Synrad Co2 Laser
Maximum power and performance from an air-cooled CO2 laser is the drive behind our firestar t-series technology. Synrad’s firestar t-series lasers are built on technology using a patented hybrid-unstable resonator design.
This creates a compact laser with excellent beam quality that can be focused to the smallest achievable spot size, delivering the maximum possible power density on a work surface. The result is faster processing speeds, higher resolution and optimized quality for cutting, marking and engraving applications. With its high performance RF circuitry designed specifically to match its compact resonator, firestar t-series lasers have typical rise times of better than 75µsec with outstanding square-wave performance. When combined with excellent beam profile and mode quality numbers (M²) of <1.1±0.1, the t-series delivers high power, fast pulsing capabilities and optical quality ideally suited for applications where rapid scanning or pulsing of the laser beam is required.
Designed for ease-of-integration, firestar t-series lasers incorporate a unique 3-point mounting system giving the user flexibility and ease of mounting into his system design. Synrad’s firestar v and t-series lasers also share common beam exits, ensuring virtual drop-in replaceablity. As with all Synrad lasers, the t-series can be operated from a 0-100% duty cycle, with laser power adjusted using a pulse width modulation (PWM) control. All t-series lasers operate from separate RF power supplies, with three standard cable lengths available, providing the lightest mounting weights for the laser heads. Synrad t-serieslasers are available in key switch or OEM configurations, and the air-cooled lasers can be supplied with or without fans (fan-cooled version shown above).

The UC-2000 Universal Laser Controller provides an easy user interface for total control of laser power, duty cycle, and modulation frequency.
Power control is achieved by pulse width modulation (PWM) at selectable clock frequencies of 5, 10, and 20 kHz. Compatible with Synrad's entire line of CO2 lasers, the all-digital UC-2000 features an easy-to-read LCD screen and easy set-up. Available in standard or rack-mountable packages.
The Power Wizard™ power meter from Synrad offers a unique solution to the measurement of laser power and serves as a service tool to ensure maximum laser performance at any time.
Designed to measure power levels from 1-250W, the PW-250 provides accurate measurement of average laser power, which is displayed on an easy-to-read LCD screen.
To facilitate the implementation of laser technology into production processes, we offer a wide range of accessories including beam delivery components, visible diode pointers,closed loop kits, AC/DC power supplies, and laser safety glasses.

The Closed Loop Stabilizer kits include a beam sampler and closed loop control system that stabilize the output power of Synrad’s water-cooled 48-1 and 48-2 lasers.
AC/DC Power Supplies can be provided by Synrad. All our lasers must be operated by an external AC or DC Power Supply. Typically, the DC supply provided is a switching supply manufactured by Power One or Astec.
Protective eyewear should be worn at all times when working with Class IV lasers. Synrad can provide safety glasses, manufactured by Sperian.
Our family of focusing lenses, mirrors, beam tubes and gas manifolds are based on a common design and can be easily configured to meet any application.
Standard lenses provide a choice of focal lengths to optimize spot size and/or depth of field. Gas jet manifolds incorporate a nozzle to blow a suitable gas onto the work surface. Beam expanders/collimators enhance the quality of the final focused spot. With standard threads, these components make the design and assembly of any beam delivery system simple and quick.

Easily mounted to the faceplate of any Synrad laser, the Diode Pointer emits a visible red laser beam which, when coaligned with a CO2 laser beam, serves as an accurate and convenient alignment tool.
This eliminates the need for cumbersome IR viewing instruments such as thermal image plates and ultraviolet lights. Additionally, it provides the important safety benefit of enabling the laser user to clearly monitor the location of the beam.
The Closed Loop Stabilizer kits include a beam sampler and closed loop control system that stabilize the output power of Synrad’s water-cooled 48-1 and 48-2 lasers. Performance of the system is typically ±2%.
They are factory installed and include a UC-2000. Power to the kit is provided through a wall plug transformer delivering 24VDC.
All of our lasers require a well-regulated DC power supply for operation. Synrad offers a corresponding DC supply for each laser model, typically a switching supply manufactured by Power One, Emerson, or XP Power.

These CO2 laser safety glasses offer protection and a comfortable frame with a coated scratch-resistant polycarbonate CO2 laser filter. Lenses have superior optical clarity with virtually no distortion to reduce eye fatigue. It is ideal for use in most laser applications and comfortable for long periods of wear. 101 laser filter offers protection from CO2 lasers (10600 nm) but will provide protection for UV lasers (OD7 @ 190-385 nm and OD6 @ 10,000 - 11,000 nm). Filter specifications are permanently engraved on the glasses.

The Slm series linear motors are linear 3-phase servo motors in various sizes and any length at an optimal price/performance ratio.
The integrated Hall sensors provide the position information for commutating the motors. The primary part features a temperature sensor to protect the motor. Permanently electrical connection (Hall, spools and temperature sensor) is made via permanently attached cables.
The direct power transmission eliminates all mechanical transmission elements such as spindles and tooth belts, completely eliminating any friction and backlash. This allows higher speeds and dynamics to be realised.
The therefore reduced cycle times lower production costs and increase productivity. Since the drive itself does not contain any mechanical elements, noise, wear and maintenance costs incurred are minimised. Drive mechanisms with linear motors compared to other linear drives are more accurate, quicker, free of backlash (no dead signal range) and more robust.
