MESSAGES FROM THE DISTRICT AWARDS COMMITTEE

Hello, CNH! If we havent had the pleasure of meeting, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jennifer Que, and I am so honored to serve you as the ` 2014-2015 District Awards Chair. One of the most bitter sweet words for club officers, something that brings such joy and yet horrendous fear isawards, but please dont be afraid! Ill share with you why awards have meant so much to me. One of the most exciting events for me at the Fall Training Conferences and District Conventions has always been the announcements of awards. As a club club board member, I was always so focused on my club's awards. I wanted CNH to see just how amazing my fellow officers and general members were, but even before winning any awards, I remember finishing applications, and I remember already being so proud of each and every single element that made the year incredible. The awards process reminded me that it wasn't just about a title, but it was about being able to observe how much my club had grown throughout the year. At DCON 2014, I stood on stage to announce recipients of awards, not only from my home club, but throughout CNH. Many times, I had to remind myself to keep my composure because I was so emotionally enthralled by all of the club achievements. As I watched officers complete awards last year while I was the Desert Oasis Awards Liaison, I could tell that many wondered why they had to fill out pages of essays for what some jokingly described as a "piece of paper". It's true that no worth of an LTG, of a club officer, of an advisor, of a general member, or of a club as a whole can be defined by the reception of an award title or a certificate, but awards have allowed our district to unite as a whole. This year, I wanted to create even more opportunities to celebrate CNH. I wanted to let large clubs and small clubs alike know that their dedication to service, leadership and fefellowship are being appreciated. I wanted to lead a committee that is dedicated to recognizing the hard work of our district, and when clubs do bring home awards. I wanted schools to see just how incredible their Circle K club is. With that said, the District Awards QUEmmittee members, the District Board, and Kiwanians have worked hard to make sure that your club has the opportunity to be recognized for all of your clubs hard work. Please use resources (such as this beautiful Awards Manual produced by Creative Director Alex D. Nguyen), updates, webinars, and workshops to your advantage. Good luck, CNH!

    RECOGNITION

    DISTRICT UNITY

    EVALUATE

With the astouding amount of hours served and funds raised for charity. California-Nevada-Hawaii is truly making a difference, one life at a time. Yet, our district would be nothing without the dedication of members, clubs, and divisions. Awards give our district the opportunity to appreci-ate, recognize, and spotlight our outstanding individuals, clubs, and divisions for the exceptional work they do every year. It is an honor that is both meaningful for the individual, as well as for the district as a whole.

Members, clubs, and divisions are awarded every year at Fall Training Conference and District Convention for the amazing things they do. Whereas individual clubs could be resentful towards each other for the awards they did not win, instead, they are supportive and encouraging. All throughout the announcement of awards, clubs congratulate other clubs for their achievements, while individuals from the north to the south cheer each other on. We all know how hard each club, individual, and division worked to earn the awards they are given. Thus, awards give CNH a sense of pride and unity - not only for our home club accomplishments, but for the achievements of others and and of our district as a whole.

District awards are a great way to evaluate the progress of your club. Awards can be a good indicator of the areas in which your club excels as well as the areas where your club can improve. The friendly competition it inspires can motivate clubs and individuals to set higher standards that adhere to the awards requirements and strive for more in service, leadership, and fellowship.

  • 4 PUBLICITY

5 LEGACYWether you are applying as an individual person or a club, it is important to be acknowledged by your district. It is very important for all clubs, especially those from new and small schools, to feel that they are supported and recognized by their division and district.

Winning awards is a reminder to your club and its members of the accomplishments, values, and pride your club carries in Circle K. Each award is accompanied with a patch that clubs may place on their banners as a physicaly reminder of their successes. The past achievements of your club and the awards you may win this year will inspire future Circle K members to not only meet, but exceed your goals. This is the legacy that your accomplishments can provide for your home club.

WHY APPLY IN A NUTSHELL Every year, members of CNH Circle K spend tremendous amounts of time and effort serving their communities. Countless hours are devoted to elevating our three tenets of service, leadership, and fellowship. The dedication our members show towards our clubs, divisions, and communities deserves to be recognized in front of the entire district. Applying for awards not only promotes the recognition of CNHs most outstanding individuals, but also recognizes individual schools and divisions for their exceptional accomplishments throughout the year.

Dont let your schools hard work go overlooked!

One of the most unforgettable moments as a leader is noticing how you have improved throughout your term and the differences you've made in your club, division, and district. Applying for awards allows you to look back at your greatest achievements, improvements, and so much more. All of your hard work and dedication you have put down on your awards will always give you that sense of personal achievement of what you have done for yourself and others.

Throughout the entire term, both you and the board members of your club work deligently to promote the three tenets of Circle K. In the process, you, as the leader, are able to see both you and your members grow to become great leaders of the future. By applying for awards, you are able to highlight all their hard work and enthusiasm they have put into making the club a success. It is extremely gratifying to experience your members coming up to receive their deserving awards at DCON.

Awards are one of the best ways to show club spirit and love! Their a culmination of the hard work, achievements and successes a club has had. When you win an award, it's not just you that wins, it's the club. Your win is their win, and your loss is their loss, but regardless of the outcome, it's the club that stands by you.

Apply for awards for a once in a lifetime opportunity to be recognized by the California-Nevada-Hawaii District! It's a great way to reflect on the term to celebrate your club's accomplishments and provide your club with something to be proud of! You have worked hard all year for this, so do not let your hard work go to waste. Apply today!

You should definitely apply for awards because they are a wonderful way of recognizing the hard work both your board and general members have put into, not just the club, but your community as well! You may know the magnitude of their efforts and your own, but to receive awards allows it be known to our fellow Circle K-ers. Awards are a way of celebrating our accomplishments and those of our peers.

Applying for awards is important because it allows your club to display all of its hard work summed into one night at District Convention. It gives both you and your members a sense of importance and shows their time commitment throughout the year. If I did not apply for awards, I may not have realized how much effort and dedication I had for this organization and how much it meant to the members.

Every year, members of CNH Circle K spend tremendous amounts of time and effort serving their communities. The dedication our members show towards our clubs, divisions, and communities deserves to be recognized in front of the entire district. Applying for awards not only recognizes our members, but also recognizes schools and divisions for their exceptional accomplishments throughout the year. It is a way that we celebrate each other for the passion and work we do to give back to our communities.

Applying for awards not only recognizes certain individuals, but also the club as a whole! They hold a great deal of accomplishment and recognition for all the hard work put into the club. Awards also showcase unique qualities that make a club stand apart from others and allows the members to feel a sense of accomplishment and pride for their home club.

You should apply for awards because it is not like you do it for the good of all people right...just kidding! Apply for awards because it fosters friendly competition between clubs and a chance for the members to be recognized for all their hard work. You will not only have something sentimental and physical to look back upon decades later, but also a sense of confirmation that you truly touched upon the lives of others and demonstrated your passion and determination.
