FunctionInitial Role of Committee

• Set election and campaign policy, schedule• Identify candidates for open positions• Initial contact can be made by individual

committee members, ask for bio or resume• Initial contact is to confirm interest but not

nomination • Committee makes final nominations decision,

not individual committee members at Committee meetings and teleconferences

FunctionAfter Committee Decides on Candidates

• Contact candidates to confirm their nomination

• Explain again the role and duties of position• Remind candidates to send in their campaign

statements and photo to [email protected] as soon as possible

Confidentiality, Slate Goals

• Confidentiality– What’s said in CNLI, stays in CNLI

• Slate Goals– Double slating but not always possible– Diversity• Latinos, Asians and Native Americans under

represented

Schedule, Process

• Fall-Winter: Identify and Contact Candidates• January: Present preliminary slate to Board• February: Finalize slate fill remaining vacancies• March Publicize slate, announce petition

process, polls open• March-April: voting starts• May: Polls close, results announced• July: Term begins for newly elected

• BSW Student Member – 2015-17– Student must be active student in 1 of 2 year term
