Attendance • The student attending on-campus and/or online

classes is required to attend at least 80% of the class meetings for each course in which he is enrolled. For semester-long on-campus or online courses, this means that a maximum of three class periods may be missed. Any student who misses more than 20% of the meetings will receive a "W," "WP," or "WF." Exceptions may be made only in cases of extreme circumstances and only with the approval of the Academic Dean. To confirm that one is active in an online class, a person must login to the course website at least once every week (prior to midnight each Sunday).

Plagiarism

• According to the American Heritage Dictionary, 2nd College Edition, plagiarism is defined as taking and using "as one's own the writings or ideas of another.“

• Put other’s words in “quotation marks” and footnote it

• When summarizing, footnote it• I do check online and easily find where you

have copied from

Quizzes and Exams

• Quizzes will be available for seven (7) days and must be taken before 11:59PM EST on Sunday each week.

• There will be a one hundred (100) question, objective mid-term. The exam will consist of multiple choice, true-false, and matching questions.

• There will be a final exam composed of one hundred (100) questions; this is an objective, comprehensive final exam given during the final week of the course (Week 15). The exam will consist of multiple choice, true-false, and matching questions.

• All exams are closed book and closed notes.

Reading Report

• Complete weekly reading requirements. The student will note that all items to be read each class week will be listed in the course schedule.

• The last week of class each student will submit a Reading Report indicating the percentage of each of the required texts read

• This assignment is to be submitted via the Week 15 Assignment feature link

Paper #1

Write a 5-page paper on the subject of the institution of marriage in the Bible. Answer the following questions in this paper:

1. What are the roles of the husband in a Christian marriage? 2. What are the roles of the wife in a Christian marriage? 3. What is male headship and female submission?

There is a grading rubric in Week 3 to guide you. Assignment due date is February 3rd (Week 3

Paper #2

Write a 5-page paper on the subject of divorce and remarriage. Answer the following questions in this paper:

1. What is your view of divorce based on Scripture?2. What is your view of remarriage based on Scripture? 3. How does the grace of God impact the counseling

process for those who are in an “at risk” marriage?

There is a grading rubric in Week 12 to guide you.Assignment due date is April 7th (Week 12).

Discussion Questions

• Discussion questions will be based on the current weeks reading assignment and audio lecture. Students will be required to give an answer to each discussion question and respond to the comments of at least one fellow student.

• Responses to discussion questions are to be informed, supported by documentation (with footnotes), and are to evidence critical thinking.

• Grades for the discussion questions will consist of 50% credit for the student’s answer and 50% credit for the response to another student.

• They are due each week by 11:59PM EST on Sunday .

LATE ASSIGNMENTSAssignments turned in late will receive a five percentage

point deduction for each day late. Exceptions to this rule will be made only in extreme cases. Assignments submitted after the semester is completed will receive no credit.
