THE AWARD WINNERS

Captain Scott’s Lobster Dock is named after Captain Thomas Scott. Also known as the “Human Cork,” in 1870 the Captain used his own body to plug a hole of a sinking ferryboat. His arm which protruded through the hole, was severely lacerated by the ice cakes, but all aboard the vessel were saved.

A taste of the paranormal.Captain Daniel Packer Inne, Mystic. Looking for some supernatural excitement in your foodie adventure? The Daniel Packer is rumored to be haunted.

Fresh & Local. The Farmer’s Cow, region-wide. This group of CT family-owned dairy farms produce milk, eggs, coffee, cider & ice cream. You can find their products at many local eateries as well as the Farmer’s Cow Calfé & Cream-ery in Mansfield.

A bite out of history. New London. Many historians claim the first grinder (submarine sandwich) was served in New London in 1926. During World War II, sailors at the nearby Navy base in Groton reportedly ate them by the thousands.
