Coder, Developer & Network Administrative Support for Livin Studio About Livin Studio Livin Studio is a design brand developing products that are innovative, sustainable and social. Whether it is about urban farming, growing insects and fungi or developing novel foods: the focus lies on products that enable the urban consumer to bring nature closer their homes than ever before. About the Job We are developing Farm432, a domestic insect breeding device that allows users to turn food scraps into high-quality protein with the use of only very little water, energy and resources. It is a project that has been very popular with media and organizations worldwide (featured in Wired, FastCompany, CNN and more). It has developed as a global project developing insect breeding equipment in places like Hawaii, Europe, Africa and Asia. We are now setting the first step to commercialize this product with the shipping of a first small batch production by the end of June and a crowdfunding campaign starting around that time too. In order to enable our early adopters from all around the world to share their bug breeding data on an online data base and forum and easily connect their device to an application to track their information, we are looking for a savvy team player eager to design and develop such a platform for us. Qualifications You are passionate about logging and tracking data electronically (preferably in the biotech world) and are excited to make sense of all this through a user-friendly online platform/forum and tracking tool. You have the relevant coding and developer skills that you need for this purpose. You are confident in both software development and sourcing the right hardware components. You are excited to collaborate in a truly global project that has a lot of potential to scale and be influenced by what you can contribute to it. You have no problem to work remotely and be reachable through Skype or common Team Work platforms (our team is based mainly in Austria and Hong Kong, but network members span across continents). Although we encourage high-level skills to develop sophisticated platforms, the tasks in the beginning should be rather simple. We are also open to utilize any existing platforms and customize it for our purposes. Working language is English. How to Apply Please send a CV and cover letter to [email protected] and Katharina Unger at [email protected]. This position is unpaid. Although our funding is very limited, we will find a way to appreciate your contributions through small reimbursements and make your work for us worthwhile!
