COMMONWEALTH GAMES DAY Wednesday, 4 July 2018 @9.15am We will be holding the Commonwealth Games Day carnival on this day and would love lots of parents, friends and relatives to come along and watch and enjoy the activities. This day is to replace the day we had planned earlier in the year (23 March) when it rained so much that the ovals were closed. The day is being run by the company ‘Be Skilled Be Fit’ and there is no cost as the school is paying for the day. The P&C have organised a Donut and Sausage on a Roll lunch special for the day. You would have received the order forms last week. The canteen will be open for parents to purchase tea, coffee and a small amount of sweet and savoury items. GALA Day - ATTENTION Please note that for the next 2 GALA Days (24 August & 7 September), the total bus fare amount of $12 must be paid by THURSDAY 17 th AUGUST. This way you do not need to worry about whether you have paid or not. Children who bring the money in on the actual Gala days will not be allowed to go. It is very distressing for children to be told they can’t go so we ask that as parents you support us in this by paying on time. Have a great holiday break, enjoy time with your children and send them back rested, relaxed and ready to learn again in term 3. School resumes on TUESDAY 24 th JULY 2018. Quote of the week : Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case one day you have to eat them. Mrs K Masciocchi (Principal) Term 2 Week 10 Dear parents & caregivers As the term draws to a close, I’d like to thank all the parent volunteers who come up to school regularly to help out in the classrooms. Your support is much appreciated. The office staff and teaching staff have also worked hard all term to ensure your children’s educational needs are being consistently met. Thank you to all EPPS staff for your hard work and commitment in Term 2. Lost Items:- If your child has lost any jewellery, watches, headphones, wallets or toys please check at the front office as we have some found items with no names on them. Any lost clothing is put into the Lost Property Bin outside the library. At the end of each term all clothing is put into the second hand pool or taken to a charity. Please check the contents of the bin if you have lost any clothing. This also applies to lunch boxes, drink bottles and toys – these are all thrown away at the end of each term if they are not labelled. Stage 3 Narrabeen Camp Payments – now that the final amount for camp has been set, parents are able to start paying this off. You would have received a note with all the details this week. PARKING REMINDER Many people who were illegally parked were booked by the Parking Rangers this week. The front of the school in the morning and afternoon is a kiss and drop/pick up zone only. You cannot park in this area and walk your child into the school. Also please note the No Parking signs and obey them. Many people do not realise that even stopping for a few minutes in these no parking areas is subject to a fine. All notes can be found on our school’s website under “Notes to Parents” www.escholpark-p.schools.nsw.edu.au

Unless you want to be tired and constantly sleep deprived, it's quite obvious that school should be five days a week and not six. If school were to be six days a week you wouldn't have time for sport, family or friends, children would start getting too tired, which over time decreases the quality of their work and you would have less time to get a break from school.

Firstly, if school went for 6 days a week, children attending the schools would have less time for sport family or hanging out with friends. School going for 6 days would only leave children with 1 day of family time, sport or friends! If you haven't caught on yet two days for sport, family and friends is better than one!

Secondly, children would just get too tired to keep going. Just think; how tired would you be when you get home on a Friday afternoon after a long week at school could you believe having another day to go? Over time children wouldn't be able to keep up with their sleep and their work would lose quality.

Finally, you would have less time for a break. Both teachers and students need a break after a long week at work or school. Everyone likes a bit of relaxation, don't they? Whether it's playing video games, watching TV, reading or sleeping.

In conclusion, school should not be six days a week. You won't have time for sport, family or friends. Children would get too tired and the break would be too short. By now it's obvious that I have convinced you that school should stay at five days a week and not six. Those are my reasons as to why school should not be six days a week.

Caramel Creamer

I’m telling you this is why you should buy a Caramel Creamer.

Firstly, I would like to point out that a Caramel Creamer contains the most delicious and mouth-watering ingredients such as, chewy

caramel, dairy milk chocolate, cream and its energy filled.

Secondly, it is so cheap at only $1.00 and no expiry date, you will surely love Caramel Creamer. It is in every shop, you can get it

anywhere.

Finally, it is soft, has high fibre and is low on fat, its as divine as a platter. Trust me that is why you should buy one.

Believe in the bar and you’ll go on a wild ride.

Kristijan – 3/4W
