State of the School Address
Bruce FraserPrincipal2011-2012
The most academically successful schools are typically those where students feel respected by their teachers
▪ Noam, G.G. & Flore, N. (2004)
Think of your favorite teacher from elementary, middle or high school.
We teach the students values. The moral education comes from our
behaviors, not our words.Character is like measles. It can only
be caught by close contact with someone who has it.
It is why we are here and what we ultimately strive to become!
Needs to drive decisions. Needs to be known by all. Needs to be revisited and, if needed,
modified
…teach from the heart, not from the book

Educators committed to working collaborativelyin ongoing processes of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for
the students they serve.
(DuFour, DuFour, Eaker, & Many, 2006).
“The greatest untapped resource in the field of education is the knowledge possessed by teachers.”
Four Critical Questions Drive our PLCs:
1.What do we expect our students to know?
2.How will we know if they have learned it?
3.What will we do differently if they don’t learn it?
4.What will we do differently if they do learn it?
“The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined efforts of each individual.”
