We have around 25 agents that marked 2014 as their first year or full year in real estate. Many of these are ending the year as multi-million dollar producers. What I am most proud of is the quality and integrity that we have continued to maintain at Coldwell Banker Group One Realty. Our new agents are some of the finest, most quality people in the business and have found a wonderful home among the many professional Realtors who have helped build this company. I interview many many agents throughout the year. On average, I probably only accept 60% of these... the rest end up going to other companies. That’s OK. I think you agree with me that if we can’t be proud of the company we represent then it’s time to move on. Paula and I thank each and every one of you for your support, loyalty, and most importantly ....your friendship. It is a wonderful life when you truly enjoy coming to work every day. We were blessed this year to support two causes during the Holiday season. One was our own Ashley Arat, Monroe agent, who is battling cancer. With the support of our Realtor community we were able to sell $5 raffle tickets which raised thousands of dollars. Our thanks to Kelly Smith for donating the rifle. The winner was Brant Tirello!
We also were blessed to help a lady known to many including Darryl and Paula. She was battling medical issues and needed surgery but her mother and father were both at Glenwood with problems. She was caring for her parents while needing surgery herself. With no job and two children, we were priviledged to donate most everything on their Christmas list. Thanks to all at Coldwell Banker Group One for their kindness at this time of year!!!

A Few Ways to Start the New Year Off Right
Set goals. Even if you’re not in the habit of setting career goals, make a point to identify where you are now and where you want to be at this time next year. If you don’t know where you’re going, it will be tough to get there. If you want to be in a different position next year, plan how you’re going to make a change.
Document your successes. Take stock of your accomplishments. Make a list of what you’ve done and create a resume/profile to highlight them.
List new skills you’ll need. You’ll likely need new skills to move ahead with your career plans, so strategize about how you can get them.
Manage your reputation. You’re nothing without your reputation; make sure that your reputation speaks for itself. How can you influence what other people know about you? Create online profiles in all of the networks you intend to use. LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+ are all useful and allow you to post steams of information to highlight your expertise. Make sure your online profiles feature the information you want people to know about you when they Google your name.
Break out of your rut. Be honest: is it time to take on something new? If you’ve been doing the “same old” for years, now may be the perfect time to plan for a change.
Join a professional association or take a more active role in one where you are a member. Professional organizations provide many opportunities to volunteer.
Make new friends. The more people who know, like and trust you and think you are good at what you do, the better the chance of you finding and landing new opportunities in the new year.
Keep an eye on the important things. Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses. If you’ve been neglecting your health, your family or friends, make a point to address those concerns in the new year and you’ll be more likely to be successful in your work life as well.
