Help ECES raise money to support two outstanding local charities that help children and families with life-threatening medical conditions. The Hair Massacure is founded, supported and organized by The MacDonald Family, in honour of their daughter Kali (a childhood cancer survivor). The event supports outstanding local charities focusing on children with cancer and life- threatening medical conditions. Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is the largest and only all-Canadian wish granting charity dedicat-ed to granting wishes to Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Partial proceeds of Hair Massacure will benefit Terry Fox Profyle a national Pediatric cancer re-search project.
Last year the Coloniale Eagles team raised approximately $8000. This year their goal is to raise $9000. Please help them reach their goal!
Here are a few options on how you can help:
- register to become part of the Coloniale Estates School team and fundraise;
- donate to a Coloniale team member;
- dye your hair pink or leave it untouched ;

(Students must have written permission to participate. Please contact Ms. Pascuzzo via email at [email protected] if your child wishes to shave their head).

PINK SHIRT DAY
BEAUMONT HOCKEY ACADEMY SHADOW DAY & REGISTRATION
May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness month. We have a very special student at our school, Teegin Mortenson, who battles cystic fibrosis every day.
This is the third year that we have been raising awareness about cystic fibrosis at our school. In addition to educating our students, and extended school family, about what cystic fibrosis is we also raise money to donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to aid in research and treatments for kids with CF.
The last two years we have collected donations of baked goods and then sold them at a two-day bake sale. This year, we have decided to try something different. We would like to have “Taco Tuesdays for Teegin”. For every Tuesday during the month of May, we will be selling taco in a bag to the students of Coloniale Estates. All of our profits will in turn be donated to the CF Foundation.
We are making a request for donations towards our fundraiser. Cash donations in any amount would be greatly appreciated. This money will go towards purchasing all of the groceries we need for tacos in a bag.
-Doritos (cheese flavored) in individual bags -ground beef -taco seasoning -cheese -lettuce -tomatoes -sour cream -salsa -zesty Italian salad dressing If there is any money left over after the purchase of our supplies, this amount will go towards our donation to the CF Foundation. There are two ways to make your donation: 1. On PowerSchool 2. Bring cash donations to Ms. Monica Jacejko (at school) Thank you in advance for considering our request for support in our fundraiser. For further inquiries, please contact Monica Jacejko at Coloniale Estates at 780-929-5904 or by email at [email protected].

S.W.A.T.
The Student Wellness Action Team (S.W.A.T.) is a group of students in grades 4, 5, and 6 whose goal is to encourage the École Coloniale Estates school community to learn about and take action in three areas of wellness: healthy eating, active living and positive social environments.
Thank you to Van at Kernels popcorn and Sobeys Beaumont for helping support ECES Family Movie Night on Friday, January 25th. Proceeds will go towards purchasing new S.W.A.T. t-shirts and their continued support of WE Villages.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE
At our assembly each month, family day passes are drawn for the Beaumont Aqua-Fit Centre. Students are eligible for the draw by dropping off their wristband that they were given when they entered the facility. There is a Wristband Challenge drop box in the office. At our January assembly Padraig Aitken, Tori Heyhurst, Eman Khan and Tatym Yusep had their names drawn. Congratulations!
WRISTBAND CHALLENGE
CROSSING GUARDS
ÉCES is participating in the AMA's School Safety Patrol program. Each morning, students from grades 5 and 6 have teamed up to provide crossing guard assistance at our two crosswalks in front of the school. Please note: during inclement weather, where the combined temperature and windchill drops below -20 Celcius, or during rainy days in the spring, our crossing guards will not be out on patrol.
As a token of our appreciation, team members with consistent attendance, have their names entered into a draw during our monthly assemblies. The draw winners at the January assembly were Willow Gladue, Ryann Markham and Kailey Solbak.
If you have any questions regarding our program please contact Mr. Deverdenne at [email protected].
