DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY DOMINGO DE LA DIVINA MISERICORDIA

St. Peter Catholic Church Communications

Alleluia! We are an Easter people. We die with Christ and rise with Him in the Holy Spirit. We are transformed into new creations. We are renewed. For Christians, each day is a new dawn for living in the light of Christ.

It is our tendency to be comfortable with how our facilities meet “my” needs. We must not just maintain, we must look forward and grow our parish family. We need to boldly vision for growth and the continued vibrancy of this parish - we must look beyond what “my” needs are for the advancement of “His” work at St. Peters Parish.

We are currently working with the Diocese for the next approval in the process. You can only imagine the difficulties in availability for scheduling meetings during this most important season of the Church. Especially when many of the participants are clergy. We all agree that the priorities are correct.

A couple of weeks ago we told you that there are some 'behind the scenes activities' occurring in preparation of next steps. We continue to proceed very deliberately, as we do not want to get too far ahead of ourselves. We have started the planning for a Capital Campaign in the hopes of gaining approval from the Diocese. There have been discussions with some Parishioners about taking leadership positions in the Campaign. The Campaign will involve 10 - 12 different Groups or Teams, all working together for the success of the Cam-paign. The leaders of these Teams will comprise the Campaign Cabinet. Each Team will be filled with Pa-rishioners like yourselves. The Campaign will have Co-Chairs who, along with the Breton Group will guide the entire Campaign. We have started to have meetings with some of the leaders primarily to get organized and further prepare for the Campaign.

Achieving our goal will be a big task. Team leaders will soon be soliciting members to fill out their Team. If each of us will accept a small part of the task, we can meet the challenge. We ask that you prayerfully consider your God-given gifts and consider your involvement. When asked to become involved in this important effort, please say, “yes” to assisting.

You will be hearing more about our Facility Project in the near future, as soon as we complete the next step with the Diocese. In the mean time, it is important for all of us to remain patient and continue to pray for St. Peter Parish.

Jesus call for our lives to be the ultimate sounds of substance

in the plan and priority of God.

Parish Facility Project Update - 4/28/19

And I’m pretty sure his flock is with him in spirit and prays for his safe return

Learn the Secrets to Being a Great Listener ~ Free Workshop ~

A free workshop to enhance listening skills for daily life situations is being offered by the local BeFriender Ministry, Saturday, May 4, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at St Peter Church. During this workshop, participants will identify their listening strengths and weaknesses. Then, three key listening strategies will be covered, along with opportunities to practice them.

Being a strong listener will help in almost all circum-stances, good or bad. For someone going through a life-changing event such as serious illness, death of a loved one, or divorce, a good listener can be comforting and supportive, while poor listeners can actually make the situation worse. When focused on listening, one grows in greater understanding and compassion for another’s values and life experiences.

Although the workshop is free, preregistration is needed. Space is limited.

To register, or for more information, contact: Dennis Dreyer at [email protected].

Sunday April 28,

The Feast of Divine Mercy

Eucharistic Adoration 2pm – 4pm

The Sacrament of Confession will be available.

Divine Mercy Chaplet will be sung (3pm)

Jesus told St. Faustina that this Feast of Mercy would be a very special day when "all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened". (Diary 699) Jesus promised that "The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain the complete forgiveness of sins and punishment."(Diary 699)

After the Chrism mass at St. Augustin Cathedral, Bishop Bradley presented Denzil and Patti Abney with the Holy Oils that were brought back to our parish to be used throughout the year.

LIVE THE LITURGY INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK

Peace be with you! Of all of the things the resurrected Christ could have said, he chose this: Peace be with you! These calming words lessened the disciples' anxi-ety and gave them a wonderful sense of reassurance. Words have the power to do that. Jesus touches his friends with his breath and breathes his Spirit upon them. This intimate gesture of peace begins to alleviate the uncertainty and fear that no doubt consumed their thoughts and hearts. Words and gestures are so important in doing God's work. Even the simplest of greetings and actions can profoundly move people and direct them to God. On this Sunday of Divine Mercy, we are reminded that God's all-forgiving and merciful love comes to us through the risen Christ. By our words and actions, may we show that forgiveness and merciful love to others.

CORRESPONSABILIDAD DIARIA

repentinamente también. No hay retroceso en el tiempo;

Sí, administradores buenos, ¡hoy es el día!

-Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS

La Fiesta de la Divina Misericordia

Hoy es el domingo de la Misericordia.
