Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord

From Fr. Paul…From Fr. Paul…From Fr. Paul…From Fr. Paul…

Dear Friends,

Christ is risen, Alleluia!

The Lord Jesus has won the victory over sin and death, and we share in His victory. He is alive and dwells within us by our baptism. All of the challenges and crosses in our lives become much lighter when we remember how much Jesus loves us. “He emptied himself” for our sakes, says St. Paul.

Let us celebrate this Easter Week and the 50-day Easter Season with joy and gratitude. He is truly risen, Alleluia!

Happy Easter!

Father Paul, Father Peter, and the Collaborative Parish Staff

"Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry: True Stories of Padre Pio Book One" is a glimpse into the life and spirituality of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, who has often been called "The greatest mystic of the 20th Century." Forty individuals, all who either met Padre Pio personally or attended his Mass, were interviewed for this book. The author and her husband, Deacon Ron Allen, have traveled to many parts of the United States in order to record the personal testimonies of Padre Pio's friends from near and far.”

If you are interested in joining the Book Club, please contact the Parish Office to sign up. We have a limited number of copies of the book available at our office for purchase at a discounted rate of $15.50.

Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord

On April 14th, we gathered with our neighbors from Grace Episcopal Church and First Baptist Church for our joyous Palm Sunday Procession & Ecumenical Blessing of the Palm in the Rose M. Sloane Garden. It was

wonderful to begin the celebration of Holy Week together in this special way. Following the service, each group returned to its respective church for Palm Sunday services.

Easter Collection: Clergy Health & Retirement Trust

Today’s Easter Collection benefits our priests in good standing, especially our senior priests, who have been helping others for decades, including people like Hector, a young man who was living in his car with little food to eat. Fr. Paul O’Brien encouraged Hector to follow his dream of attending college and was there to help him every step of the way. Hector’s is a remarkable story of hope. Learn more and see Hector’s story at clergytrust.org.

The Easter Collection today allows us to give back to our priests, who have been there for all of us. Thank you for helping us care for their health and well-being with your donation to the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust. This trust is independently managed with a majority lay board of trustees. The funds are used for the sole benefit of active and senior priests in good standing.

Disciples in Disciples in Disciples in Disciples in MissionMissionMissionMission

St. Peter reminds us today that Jesus Christ “… commissioned us to preach to the people and testify that he is the one appointed by God”. Who are the people you might “preach to” or speak to today about Christ? Pray for the courage to be like Peter and Mary Magdalen and tell your story – the story of how God works in your life. This is not just good news, it is Good News. Share it!

Box Tops for Education is a way for St. Joseph's school to raise money. Box Tops can be found on products you buy in the grocery store. Simply by

clipping the Box Tops and putting them in the Box Top box at the back of the church, the school will raise money. Each Box Top gives the school 10 cents. These can add up quickly! Start clipping today and support our parish school!
