BLACK PATTERN WHITE PATTERNA market logic comming from the post industrial economy.
Traditional logic and morphology, linked to the history of places “the old city”
SUPER PLACES
NO PLACES
ORDINARY PLACESWAKE UP TERRITORY!”
KEY WORDS :: Identication - Memory
- Appropiation - Integration - Permeability - Conciousness
- Alternative - Common - Awarness
opposite shapes - lifestyles - patterns - densities
The BLACK AND WHITE forces are two very different dynamics present over the territory in between Treviglio and Milano, and they appear CO-LIVING, one next to the other:PRIVATE/PUBLIC GLOBAL/LOCAL AGRICULTURE/INDUSTRY/RESIDENCENATURE/ARTEFACTS URBANITY/RURALITY PRESERVATION/RENOVATIONTo improve livability it is necessary to REthink about the relations between this two logics and the places where they MEET EACH OTHER.
CO EXISTING CO LIVING CO LABORATING CO INCIDING
WHERE DO PEOPLE LIVE ?
WHERE DO PEOPLE MEET ?
WHAT DO PEOPLE NEED ?
:: COLLECTIVE SPACES ::
connective paths creating interactive relations between different forms of the physical space.
What makes an space COLLECTIVE is the queality given by the people when they use the space in mass, without an apparent rule or determinated practice.

How to project over collective spaces between Treviglio and Milano ?
_ using the memories and perceptions of the inhabitants _ Interpreting the existing elements and systems _ giving a legible and unitarian image _ finding continuities and discontinuities in the fluxes_ identifying the hierarchies: horizontally and vertically
RE READING the traces RE VERSING the logic of the territoryRE USING the existing and subused [ land and structures ]RE STORING the abandoned infrastructures and memoriesRE CONVERTING the physical spaces and dynamics into COLLECTIVE ones.
1. Parco Lambro ::The continuity of an “urban park”, a frontier for the city: where to end and begin; Mix of different kind of facilities and performances of metropolitan scale. According to the well defined vocation of the river`s surrounding areas, in the park would be stress and support the sportive activities, the leissure and relax, pedestrian, familiar areas.
2. MioParco ::The park will be an answer to the specific need of the territory of an alternative subcenter for the night life and culture for the inhabitants. It is an opportunitie for the contemporary and traditional dynamics and cultures to meet, relate and connect. The park will make visible the growing young population and will give them the spaces to develope identity and identify with the territory.
3. Molgore ::In the fields of the rural traditions, the new structures and super places are being born, and the emergence of a risk for the local identity makes it necessary to create spaces and ways to express the old and the new cultures, making them both sustainable for the future.
4. RioValle ::Continuing the Parco Sud Milano, a set of environmental elements joined together in a system as an expression of the nature, recovering the green landscape, and giving a strong identity of preserved land [water, agricultural soils and old city]
5. Adda ::A set and system of preserved natural areas linked to the presence of the river Adda, will create an expression of the traditional vocation of the land: the uses of the river, the changes in the production and the environmental elements.
“ ... GIVING VALUE TO THE SPACE, IS GIVING VALUE TO THE PEOPLE... ”
Signs of sickness over the territory
- Strong presence of the “Car culture” [gas stations, drive thru, McD, large parking lots]- The invasion of “shopping world” [ sex shops and commercial centers] and the culture of the “dormitory city” in the peripheries. - Strong big infrastructures “cutting” the fluxes and stopping the permeability [over the south park – PASM]- Centralization of public spaces. Culture of the uses of public space linked to tradition and religion (churches, parks)- HIGH PRIVATIZATION OF THE SPACE- Unbalanced development of new projects - High presence of dismissed areas: buildings in the urban cores, agricultural infrastructures old - Problems of violence, insecurity [in the urban cores and roads]
NEW CONFIGURATIONS INTO THE EXISTING SPACE + GIVING NEW VALUES TO THE TERRITORY AND ITS PLACES
