From the Principal’s Desk…

Dear Parents,

“It is a two-edged sword”. That can be

said for just about anything. There is a

positive aspect and a negative impact.

The difference is how something is im-

plemented. Technology is great and

allows us to be in touch with family,

friends and the news. Technology can

also be used for bullying, seducing, and

generally for evil. I know many of our

students have cell phones. It is advisa-

ble that you make a habit of checking

your child’s devices to see their conver-

sations, pictures, and internet searches.

We have become aware of some stu-

dent exchanges that were very inappro-

priate. Please be a preventative and

aware parent. Our children do not have

a right to privacy on their devices that

are bought and paid for by their fami-

lies. Please monitor your child’s technol-

ogy usage!

Concerned,

Mrs. Pitman

Community Open House & Ribbon Cutting Celebration!

Pike Schools Focus on Flint

Pike High School is leading our district in an effort to help our neighbors in Flint, Michigan by creating the Pike Schools Focus on Flint initiative to raise money for the heavy costs the schools will bear due to the long term issues associated

with lead poisoning in children.

They will be selling Pike Schools Focus on Flint t-shirts, buttons, and stickers, in all of our schools starting on March 1. In support of this effort the Superintendent has granted special permission for students and staff members who purchase a

t-shirt to wear their shirt with jeans on Thursday, March 17, to show our solidarity with the students, teachers, and citi-zens of Flint, Michigan. Because of the amazing support of Pike high school clubs, classes, and other Pike community

sponsors for our initiative, we will be able to send all proceeds from the sale of these items directly to the Flint Schools. Please find the t-shirt art above and consider supporting this wonderful effort!

PHS Swimming Success

Please join us in congratulating our Pike High School Boys Swimming & Diving Team for finishing 3rd at the Brownsburg Sectional. Aiden Werner was Sectional Champion in Diving, and both Aiden and Lucas Graham qualified for the Diving

Regional!

PHS Faculty vs. Student Basketball Game

Please join us in applauding our Pike High School family for raising $3,500 for the American Cancer Society with their

annual Faculty vs. Student Basketball game this year.
