IJGA doesn’t just help students learn how to play golf – we also help them get into college.
In fact, IJGA’s approach to college placement is so effective, our students have a nearly 100%
college acceptance rate and have received over $51 million in scholarships.
Golf may not have the high profile of other college sports, but
there are thousands of educational scholarships available for
young golfers, both men and women, looking to attend college.
In fact, there are currently 1,970 golf scholarships available for
male students, and 1,788 for female students.
Competition for placement
on college athletic teams
can be fierce, requiring
students to have an edge
over the competition. IJGA’s
training courses and student
resources provide that edge,
helping our students get
into such prestigious golf
programs as Georgia Tech,
Princeton, Dartmouth,
Oklahoma State University,
Texas A&M, Yale, Notre
Dame, and more.
In addition to providing training to young
golfers from countries around the world,
IJGA also helps students get into the college
of their dreams through:
• Honest and realistic assessments of
current golf and academic standing,
and ways they can improve.
• Assistance understanding what
coaches, schools, and organizations
look for in potential recruits.
• Clear, long-term game plans for the
recruiting process.
Of course, there’s more to getting into college than just
athletic performance. To make sure students are prepared
for all the steps of applying to college, IJGA provides a
calendar of important dates, from SAT and ACT testing
periods to deadlines for applying for financial aid.
Depending on where they live and
attend school, students will have to
take either the SATs or ACTs, and
obtain a high enough score to be
considered for entry. IJGA staff helps
students by sharing their in-depth
knowledge of the testing process and
how to study for their SAT, ACT, or
TOEFL exam.
One of the most important
aspects schools and coaches look
for when recruiting student-
athletes is their past experience
and performance records. IJGA
provides help to our students with
not only writing their academic-
athletic resumes but also finding
and qualifying for the right events
to put on their resumes.
Student-athletes who are
serious about getting a
college scholarship need to
get in contact with coaches.
Finding and contacting the
right coaches isn’t always
easy, which is why IJGA
provides students with
coaches’ contact info and
helps them make first contact.
International Junior Golf Academy
