The JNCT was established in 2007 with “JAWAHARLAL NEHRU COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY (JNCT),
REWA” becoming the second private professional college of the district. In the last 5 years JNCT has been the

JAWAHARLAL NEHRU COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY, REWA was established in 2007. It is situated
near the RTO, Bypass Road, Ratahara in the eco friendly green lush campus, with high class infrastructure, with
all facilities for the students to provide them quality education and help them become world class technocrats and
motivate them to be excellent entrepreneurs.

LIBRARY
The central library of the college is very spacious with an area of approximately 4000 sq. feet. During free periods
students can spend their time purposefully by sitting in the reading room in the library The Central library has over
30,000 text and reference books related to disciplines of engineering, applied sciences, mathematics, economics and
management. It also subscribes to 90 international & national journals and magazines which caters to different
technical and management students and more then 12 leading newspapers.
The library has computerized information system, access to the audio/video service and reprographic facility
available for the students and faculty. New arrivals books are displayed at separate stand prominently. Student can
also access on-line journals, through DELNET which is being subscribed by the library. This facility is being
provided in the library at internet section. The library remains open on all working days for the purpose of reference,
issue & transaction. All the students can avail Book Bank facility also.

For BE Courses Students are admitted to BE courses on the basis of their performance in pre-engineering test (PEPT) through
the distributive on line counseling conducted by R.G.P.V. Bhopal (M.P.). If seats remain vacant after
counseling then they may be filled on the merit basis of 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics through subsequent counseling conducted by R.G.P.V. Bhopal.
Lateral Entry
Diploma/B.Sc. degree holders are eligible for admission to BE III semester (2nd year of the 4 year course) on
the basis of their merit marks in the Diploma/B.Sc. examination. These seats are filled through counseling
conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Bhopal (M.P.)
For MBA Course Students are admitted to MBA course on the basis of their performance in Management Entrance Test (MET)
through counseling conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) , Bhopal ( M.P.). If seats remain

The job prospects for computer engineers are increasing rapidly both in India and abroad because of
the boom in this industry.
System study, analysis, design and programming are the main areas which provide various probabilities
to the computer science and engineering graduates to shape themselves in their career.
Computer engineers develop computer programs for industries. Their work involves the design, development
and maintenance of software.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT Being the oldest engineering discipline in vogue, Civil Engineering is the father of all engineering disciplines.
With such a distinguished history behind it and centuries of accumulated knowledge and skills, the department
was established from the very beginning of the Institute in 2010 and is offering undergraduate (BE) in Civil
Engineering.
LABORATORY: The department has well equipped laboratories of fluid mechanics, construction material
technology, geology and advanced surveying unit to cater the practical knowledge of the students.
CAREER OPTIONS: Considered as one of the oldest engineering disciplines, Civil Engineering involves
planning, designing and executing structural works. The profession deals with a wide variety of engineering
tasks including designing, supervision and construction activities of public works like roads, bridges, tunnels,
buildings, airports, dams, water works, sewage systems, ports etc. and offers a multitude of challenging career
opportunities.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Department of Mechanical Engineering offers 4 years B.E. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. The department
strives to impart quality education keeping in view the global scenario and social obligation. The department strives
for continuous improvement in quality of education through curriculum development and up gradation of
laboratories. The department can boast of very well equipped Heat Engines & Strength of Materials, Refrigeration
and Air Conditioning, Hydraulics & Theory of Machines Laboratories. The department also has a well-equipped
workshop that caters to the need of the entire college. The students of this course are exposed to subjects related to
Theoretical as well as Practical Subjects. Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, a lot of stress is laid on hands-on

CAREER OPTIONS
Mechanical Engineering finds applications in all fields of technology. They could work in many industries including
private or public sector industries of various types, and their work varies by industry and function.
With the rapid rate of expansion in the industrial sector, the employment potential for mechanical engineers is very
high. These engineers are required in automobile, chemical, electronics, steel plants, oil exploration and refining,
technical wings of armed forces, space research organization, etc.
Candidates with post graduate degree or an additional management degree could find work in administrative and
managerial positions in government departments or public and private sector industries or do research as well as
teaching in Research and teaching institutes.
Several government departments including Posts and Telegraphs, Defense, PWD, and CPWD employ mechanical
engineers. Aeronautical, agricultural, automobile, chemical, and power plants, as well as the railways, need
mechanical engineers to design and maintain their machinery. In agricultural sector, mechanical engineers play a
vital role by establishing service centers for maintenance of tractors, oil engines, pump sets, electric motors and

There is increasing demand of electronics engineers in the field of mobile communication and in the field of VLSI
and embedded systems and Electronics industries.
In addition to these electronics and communication engineers have scope in the field of software and
programming, it also includes the work of designing, development and maintenance of software. They can get jobs
of analyzing problems for solutions.
The jobs of electronic circuit designing, testing calibration, etc are also few of the opportunities for them.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
The college organizes a wide range of cultural activities throughout the year. These include Rangoli, Mehandi, T-
shirt Painting, Quiz Competition, Singing (Solo), Nail-Art, Dance (Solo Group). The JNCT Rewa expects the
students to participate actively in all functions. The cultural committee of the college works with the objective of
developing the cultural talents of the students, improving their capabilities to work as a team and raising their level
of self-confidence in interacting with fellow students and peers.

Cultural activities team motivates students by giving full support (financially and academically) for

ACTIVITIES: The NSS unit in the college organized several activities in the college with the aim of instilling a
sense of responsibility toward the society.
A blood donation camp was organized in collaboration with Victoria Hospital. Around 60 students donated
blood in the camp.
A poster competition was organized on the occasion of World’s AIDS day on 01-12-2011.
The college students actively participated in the university Programme.
The students and staff were actively involved in 7 days National Integration Camp which was organized in APS U Rewa.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS OF JNCT, REWA
Students must attend college in proper uniform.
Students must produce Identity Card on demand to the college authorities any time in the college or hostel.
Students must not, in any manner, involve themselves in ragging activities.
All students must attend classes regularly. The minimum attendance required for each semester is 75%
All the students must appear in MID Semester and Internal Assessment. The Internal Assessment Marks
are counted for the award of division and are sent at the end of semester to the University.
Students should not visit canteen during working hours/class time.
Student will not carry cell phone, cash or other valuables in the college. If they do so it will be at their on
risk.
Student will not skip classes or leave college during working hours.
They are expected to utilize their free time in the library, organize games and sports or similar constructive
activates.
Students should not participate in any strike or demonstration. The college will make best effort to fulfill
their reasonable requirements.
Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college campus. Anyone found involved in ragging will be strictly dealt
with as per the norms.
