Michael Alexander Campus Center Continued

Status: The excavation of the building footings has been completed, and the rebar has been placed in the footings. The concrete foundations have been placed. The site 24-inch storm drain installation at Oak Drive is on going, and the fabrication of structural steel has begun. The new masonry seat walls at the west fire lane extension have been installed, and the concrete contractor is continuing to screen all on site footing spoils of rocks in an effort to prepare backfill material. The contractor is forming the poured in place walls, and the building under slab plumbing is complete. The under slab electrical is almost complete, and lighting conduit has been replaced at the west fire lane. The fire lane has been surveyed, and the lower manhole at Oak Drive is complete. The catch basin walls at Oak Drive have been placed.

Revised Contract: $1,681,000Contract Start: June 4, 2010Contract Completion: October 31, 2010 Scope: Design and construction of a new transit bus center for the loading and unloading of the Omnitrans buses on the Rancho Cucamonga campus.Status: Young Contractors, Inc. is continuing with the installation of the storm drain and bio-swale system. The electrical subcontractor has energized the light poles in the parking lot area, and Young Contractors is continuing with the concrete walkways in and around the bus shelter. Landscape irrigation has begun in the planters, and boulder placement is on going.

Status: Building was completed and ready for use for the fall 2010 semester. Accessible ramps were completed and ready for use. Lights in Parking Lot 14 are installed, and functioning. Exterior display cases have been installed. Completion of punch list items is in process.

Fontana Phase III-Academic Building Continued

Status: First and second floor slabs were placed, and are complete. Roof parapet framing will take place in October 2010, and domestic water and fire manifolds are installed. Domestic water line installation has been charged, and final tie in by the fire sprinkler contractor is complete. Remaining structural steel at the west stairs was erected, and was followed by a Topping Out ceremony. The Fontana Water Company has completed the water line, concrete sidewalk, and bus turn out. The mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other trades are continuing with preliminary work prior to fireproofing, which began September 27, 2010. Scaffold has been set at the north side of the building.

Physical Ed Facility-Gymnasium Renovation Architect: NTD Architecture Original Contract: $4,694,000 Construction Manager: Bernards Approved Change Orders: $28,297 Contractor: USS Cal Builders, Inc. Revised Contract: $4,722,297Contract Start: February 1, 2010Contract Completion: October 31, 2010Scope: Renovation of the 30,843 sq. ft. existing athletics building. Status: USS Cal Builders, Inc. has begun installation of ceramic tile in the Team Locker Rooms, Faculty Locker Rooms, and Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms. The toilet partitions, fixtures, and showerhead fixtures have been installed on the east side, and light fixtures have been installed in the three classrooms. The classroom partition wall has been installed, and priming and painting of the east side walls is on going. The footings for the north and south canopies are being prepared, and the columns are scheduled to be placed early October 2010. The gymnasium floor slab has been prepared, and the wood floor is scheduled to be delivered and installed in early October 2010. T-Bar ceiling on the east side is being installed, and T-Bar hangers are being installed on the west side. Glazing on the first and second floor is complete, and the installation of the air-handling units is on going.
