• November 2016 – Leber of Academy Cer9fica9on
“Upon your request, I reviewed the minutes from several mee:ngs held back in 1994, 1995, and 1996 regarding the cer:fica:on of SLEA as a basic academy. From these records, it is clear that the Board established several milestones for SLEA that were expected to be met before cer:fica:on was considered. Nevertheless, at the mee:ng of June 6, 1996, it appears that the Board was sa:sfied that all such requirements had been met and that SLEA was authorized to begin training recruit candidates at that :me. By a unanimous vote, the Board cer:fied SLEA as a basic academy.”
