Colleyville Clean SweepVolunteer a little time to keep Colleyville beautiful at the annual fall Clean Sweep. Everyfall, volunteer teams disperse throughout thecity to collect trash from parks and roadwaysin a citywide community clean-up. CleanSweep is open to individuals, as well as community, students and corporate groupsand is eligible for community service hours.

Haunted Trail FestPrincesses, pirates, goblins and ghouls all cometo enjoy a night of arts and crafts, games andamusement, before venturing down the hauntedtrail. Pumpkin craft decorating, costume contestsfor people and pets, and not-so-scary story-telling – what better way to spend an Octobereve. Activities are free; $3 admission to thehaunted trail. A note to parents: The fright factor increases after 7:30pm.

Jo-Ann’s Little DancersThese classes develop a child’s poiseand coordination, while teaching fundamentals of ballet and tap. Classespromote group interaction skills andbuild your child’s self-esteem and positive self-image. Girls on the RunGirls on the Run (GOTR) uses interactiveactivities, such as running and creativegames to teach you about importantissues. Fee includes 20unique lessons by GOTR-trained staff,Girls on the Run t-shirt and entrance tothe Girls on the Run 5K.

Colleyville Girls Youth Volleyball LeagueThe league is designed to introduceyoung ladies from 9 to 13 years to the game of volleyball. It was createdto provide a safe, fun environment tolearn the basic premises of the gamethrough practices, teaching fundamentalvolleyball skills, sports ethics andleague competition. Players will get an hour and a half of practice eachweek with balls provided both at practices and games. Players will alsoreceive a team t-shirt. Register as ateam or an individual. Coaches can sign up an entire team with a minimumof eight players and maximum of tenplayers at a discounted rate. A clinic forvolunteer coaches will be available.Placement on a particular team is notguaranteed. The season will end with a single-elimination tournament. Gamesare on Saturday starting Oct. 1 throughNov. 19. Registration ends Sept. 14.

Colleyville Squirrels Junior Team TennisHome of the 2011 State Sectional Qualifiers.This class is designed for players wanting toget involved in NETT Junior Team Tennis. Feesinclude practices once a week for eightweeks, league fee and team t-shirt. Fee doesnot include USTA membership. Team tennismatches are on Sundays. Dates are subject tochange depending on team tennis schedule.

Picnic Pavilion RentalsRentals include picnic tables for exclusiveuse through the rental process. Pavilionsthat are available for rent: Kimzey Park,McPherson Park, Colleyville Nature Center,Sparger Park and City Park. Colleyville NatureCenter is the only pavilion with a grill.
