Collingwood College is one of themost modern of all Durham University’scolleges and offers all the essentialamenities for any event, frominternational conferences for hundredsof delegates to group trips exploring the riches of the area.

The College’s facilities include thepurpose-built Penthouse Suite, the idealvenue for conferences, meetings andtraining courses, which is available for events all year round.

The Penthouse suite can accommodate180 delegates and is easily adapted, withthe option of additional rooms beingmade available. There is also the DalesSuite, which is suitable for an additional50 people, plus various smaller meetingand seminar rooms throughout the College.

The high standard of accommodationavailable at the College justifies its threediamond rating from the English TourismCouncil, and includes 200 rooms withfull en-suite amenities, each with aprivate shower, toilet, washbasin andtea/coffee-making facilities. Sixteen of these rooms are designed for twinoccupancy, with two designed forwheelchair users. In addition to the en-suite rooms there are over 300 singlestandard rooms, all are comfortablyfurnished and include a washbasin. Easy access is available to the showersand toilets on each floor, andkitchenettes with microwaves are alsoavailable for guests’ convenience.

The College places great emphasis ondining and is proud of its reputation forexcellent cuisine. The choices availablefor dining and banqueting are extensiveand adaptable including the main dininghall which can seat up to 300 guests, thePenthouse Suite which is suitable for upto 120 and various other smaller, moreintimate options. Our chef can createmenus tailored to your every need andwill happily cater for any special diets; or you can choose from one of our setmenus. There is also a spacious, fullystocked bar and extensive wine cellaravailable for all guests.

There are many other facilities andservices available to ensure that yourevent is an enjoyable and successfulexperience. When it’s time to relax youcan enjoy a game of tennis on the all-weather court, which doubles as a five-a-side pitch, or play a game of croquet onthe College’s lawn while making the mostof the dedicated barbecue area. There isalso a games room with a pool table, Sky television and a darts board.
