Columbine.The Rocky Mountain Columbine was adopted

the official state flower of Colorado on April 4, 1899.

State SealThe triangle at the top of the seal contains

the eye of God. Below the eye is a shield which contains snow-capped mountains with clouds above them. In the yellow area of the shield, you will find a pick and sledge hammer which represent miners’ tools. The state motto is found below the shield. It says “Nil Sine, Numine” which means “nothing without Deity” in Latin. The year 1876 at the bottom is the year in which Colorado became a state. The seal was designed by Lewis Ledyard Weld and William Gilpin.

March 7, 1939.The tree is known for its majestic form and

beautiful blue-silver coloring.

collection.On the coin there is a picture of the Rocky

Mountains, Evergreen Trees, and a banner that says “Colorful Colorado”.

Inscripted in the coin is also “Colorado” and “1886.”
