10 mins 12-16 Pair/Share – LGBT+

All: The Rainbow Flag is a symbol of LGBT+ people. LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans. Do you know what these words mean? (Opportunity to address misconceptions.)

15 mins 17-22 New Material All: LGBT+ people use lots of different flags. We are going to look at some of them. ASK: Sometimes we call LGBT+ flags “pride” flags, why do you think this is? (You can use slide 18, printed or otherwise, or share with students the bisexual, trans, LGBT+ and progress flags.) For each flag, the students should count the number of different colours and write their answers as a number and as a word.
