On 042099, around 111:5 hours KristenGarramone was in the cafeteriaeating lunchwhen the shooting incident began. Kristin said she was sitting at a table almost directly in the middle of the cafeteria. She was sitting with, Dustin Gordon, Greg Garcia, Sean Roberts, Richie Green, Bret Kostnalik, Paul Andrews, Dustin Meyers and others that she could not recall their names. While eating lunch a commotion broke out Soon afterwards she saw students and Mr. Sanders run in and yelled for students to get down on the floor. She could hear gunshot. Shetold me the gunshots sounded like firecrackers. Garramone and her friends hid on the cafeteria floor for awhile. She then got up and ran into the kitchen where she hid in a mop closet with Sean Roberts, Greg Garcia, Austin Meyers, Paul Andrews, some of the lunch staff, someteachers and others that she could not recall their names. On 082299, I telephonically interviewed Kristin Garramone, a studentat Columbine HighSchool. Kristen reported to methat she was interviewed once before by Jefferson CountyDistrictAttorneys Office. Garramone recalled stepping over a large pllCk on her way into the cafeteria on that day.She thought it was a duffel bag, but could not be sure. She reported that thls was notunusual, because thecafeteria always had backpacks lying all over the floor.Garramone said that she could not see the shooting or the shooters from her tablelocation. She was only able to hear the shooting. Garramone told me that she wassurrounded by her friends and couldnotsee anything,Garramone did report to losingher bllCkpack on 042099 in the cafeteria, She said it wasbiack,

On April 20. 1999, Garrett went to sohool and attendedolasses from apprOXimately 7:30 a.m. until 11:10 a.m. At 11:10a.m., Garrete went eo lunch at the school's cafeteria and sac atapprOXimately 'I'a.ble DD. At Garrett'$ taJ:lle Wile Kenny Rupp, BoLaSt N"me unknown, Mike Naifeh. and Jarrett Saer. After gettinghis Luncn, Garrett sat down at his table and observed everyonearound him getting down on the floor. The janitors told everyoneto get down. Garrett heard gunShots to the west. outside thecafeteria. Garrett ran east along the oafeteria's south wall andinto the foreign language area. On 05·11·99 at II 00 A.M. Detective Terry Dernrnel, who is assigned with TheColumbineLawEnforcementTask Force.contacted Columbine SophomorestduentMelindaGartcni at her home. Melindas motherwas present for the interview. Melindareported that on Tuesday the 10'" 'he had .I" hour offand was in tile Commonswhen 'heheard what sounded like fire worksgoingoff outsideof the cafeteria that caused about 50students to get up and run towardsthe wnndews Melinda heard 4 loudbangs ana heardthe cafeteria windowget hit and glass break. People were yelling to get down and shemomentarily crawled under a table Melinda marked on the map which table she wasseared at when the incident began. Melindahad gotten down when she saw a persondressed in all black. wearing a trench coat with somethingdark wrapped around hi' upperface: 'he couldn't see if he was wearing a hator not; walk into the cafeteria from thenorthdoor by the pop machines. Melindastaredtha; the party had a long black gun andwasalone.
Melindareported that she knew who Dylanwas and had said .. Hi " to him several timesbut ,hal she could not identifythe personwho walked into the cafeteria wearing thetrench coat andcarrying the gun.
Whenthe party with the guncarneInto the cafeteria Melindastated 'he beganto runwhen she trippedover a chair and fell down, Melindathen ran up some stairs andstarted'0 go into the Library when shechanged her directionand went into theauditoriumwhereshe stayed for a while. She began screaming and was helped up andJedout by another student that she stated was '"ran Kechter: one the victims that was thenkilled.

Melinda reported that she ran into the main hallway and out of the east main entrancedoor The glass from the door fell on them as they wee going through it Melindasuspects that the glass was already broken from what she thought was baseballs as shereports seeing baseballs lying on the ground outside of the door.
Del. Dernmel asked Melinda if she saw any unusual items or bags in the cafeteria whileshe was intnere with Melinda reporting that she thinks she saw a big red duffel bag thatwas larger than the many back. packs that are normally in the cafeteria. Melinda reportedthat the bag was approximately 10 feel south of the table she was seated at and wassitting on top of a table. Melinda says that she got to the cafeteria table about I 1.15A.M. she believes and that was about the time thatshe saw the bag.
Melinda stated that a girl by the name of Ashley Eagland had told her that she bedobserved ..-com. into the cafeteria and tha_as involved. Det, Demmelchecked Wlth Group 4 and was advised by Del. Mark ard that Ashley Eaglaadhad been contacted and interviewed and that Ashley did report tha,-"was inthe cafeteria and was involved in the incident.

• Katherine was in Mr, Sander's Keyboan:! class prior to lunch(near the MarketingDepartment on the lower level). She statedthatshe got out at i 1:10 and went straightto lunch. She sits at the bottomof the Stain at a rectangular table. Shestaledthatshedid not gointo the cafeteria at anytimeand thereforedid not seeanylargebags,duffelor otherwise, sitting on the floor.
• Katherine deniesgoing into Rebel Corneror to the StudentStore. Shestatedthatshewas sittingwitha Sarah (from keyboarding class) and Heather (unknown last name),She statedthat the second bell had already rang (post Il:lS a.m.). Shethought that itwas 'just anotherday" ar school
• Katherine stated that a short lime later a female student came in the soulll cafeteriadoorsand said "that a girl got shot". She statedthat Mr. Sanders thencarne in andtoldeveryone to "get down". She statedthat she got on the floor forabout"2seconds" and then gOt up and ranat !hedirection of Mr. Sanders.
• Katherine stated!hat the went to !he Auditorium via !he hall near the cafeteria. On 4/20/99, Brittany arrived'at sChool at approximately7:15 a.m. She went to the cafeteria/commons area to work on aschool scien~e projec~. She noticed many backpacks, and alsoathlete' type duffel bags, but nOne that stood out of cheordinary to her. There were approx~mately 75 other students inthe area as well. Af:er this, she went to her normal daysclasses, the lase c:ass she hao was gym class, but she ~ad aheadache, so she went back to the commons to work on her scienceprojec~ a~ approximately 10:15 a.m. She then stayed in thecafeter~a unt~l lunch hour begar.. She lay on the stair landing and saw a male in at::ench coat that she could not .dentify come through the door ofthe cafeteria. He was pointing the gun in her direction andrandomly shooting. As previously mentioned, Daniel did not see any clutfalbags at any time, that stood out to him. Additionally, h. didnot see Klebold or Harris on Monday or TUesday. When they were10'15 feet from the inner door of the main entrance, one of thewindows on the left side of the door shattered. Goodwin does notknow what:: made the window shatter. Daniel R. Grange, DOB 03/09/~984, 5484 South HoytStreet, Littleton, Colorado, telephone (303)979-0265, a freshmanat Columbine High School, was interviewed at his home in thepresence of his mother, Dixie Grange, by Special Agent (SAl RiokyV. Wright regarding the incident that took plaoe on 04/20/1999 atColumbine High School. After being advised as to the identity ofthe interviewing agent and the nature of the interview, Grangeprovided the following information,
At approximately 11:10 am, Grange got out of Spanishclass, taught by Mr. Freund, and left the foreign languagedepartment and went directly to the oafeteria. Grange sat downat a oafeteria tablelmarked 5B on the diagram sketchl. Alsositting at the same table as Grange, were Spencer Wright, AaronWright, Seth Oubois, and Michael Huntington. Grange was sittingfacing west with Aaron Wright sitting to his left. Grange doesnot remember who was sitting to his right.
Grange had not gotten his lunch yet, when he heard apop; which sounded like a firework outside the cafeteria. Grangelooked out the west windows of the cafeteria and saw a boyrunning up the hill to the northwest of the cafeteria. Grangeestimates that the bey was about 40-45 feet away from thebuilding. Grange was unable to describe the boy further. Gr~~ge
did not see anyone else outside the oafeteria. Grange thinksthat someone then yelled for everyone to get down. Grange gotdown under his table. While ~~der his table, he observed anexplosion next to a black Honda Passport in the parking lotapproximately 30-35 feet from the building. Grange does notthink anyone was around the explosion.
After the explosion, someone told the students to run.Grange grabbed his baokpack and got up and ran up the stairs tothe main level. Grange saw Mr. Sanders lying about 15 feet tothe right of the top of the stairs. He was struggling to get upand had blood coming out of his mouth. JUst east down the mainhallway, a teaoher, Ms. Miller, was directing students into thescience area and Grange ran into a classroom in the southwestcorner of the science area~

There were about 60 students hiding in the classroom,including a teacher] Mr. Friesen. After a few minutes, Mr.Sanders came in and fell just inside the door. They locked theclassroom door ~~d used their shirts to try and stop the bleedingon Mr. Sanders. There were no other injured in the classroom.The class huddled in the classroom for approximately three hours.Grange did not see the gunmen, but thinks that at some time theydid go into one of the science classrooms east of where he wasand tried to start a fire by turning on the gas and throwing abomb.
After three hours, a SWAT team came and evacuated themfrom the classroom. The SWAT team made them all put their handson their heads and sent them out down the seairs and out theschool by the faculty lounge. Once outside the students waitedfar police cars to take them to Clement Park.
Grange was also in the cafeteria before fist periodwith Spencer Grange, Aaron Wright, Spencer Wright, and SpencerTaylor. They were sitting in the vicinity of the table marked Hon the diagram sketch. The cafeteria was approximately twothirds full at that time. Grange did not remember seeing anylarge duffle bags sitting in the cafeteria before first period orat lunch. Grange did not know Eric Harris, Dyl~~ Klebold, or anyof the other members of the Trenchcoat Mafia. Grange did not seeany of the gunmen during the shooting.
Grange is aware that his friend .~ron Wright saw one ofthe gunmen in the parking lot prior to the shooting with a largeblack duffle bag. On the day of the shooting, Grange was wearingkhaki shorts, bright blue shirt, white socks, and white and blueshoes. Grange may also have been wearing a Cleveland Indianshat.

On 04-27·1999, contact was made wi!h Samuel Granillo regarding his observations on 04-17·99. He notedbeing in 1$ (A) lunch, seated with Sarah Slater (303-973-5968), at table "YY· as identified on the drawing asprepared by SIA Dtrito, He reports no suspicious items in the area of !he table. Nor did he observe el!hersuspect or known associates in !he lunchroom prior to the incident.
He was first alerted of trouble by Mr Dave Sanders running Into the lunchroom from the area of the seniorparking lot and yelling "Get Down". He Initially !hought It to be a fight in !he parking lot. and maybesomeone had a gun. A very short time later, Mr Sanders ran into the lunchroom a second time and againyelled "Everyone under the tables". He began to exit !he lunchroom wi!h other students via the mainstairway. when he heard a loud explosion from !hat direction and turned and ran into the kitchen area wherehe met 2 kitchen workers, and 14 other students. (Included among the 14 was Sarah Slater, Ricky Green,Heather Leitz and Tanya (LNU}.
They all entered a storage room in the kitchen and Granillo barricaded the door, and laid on the fioor wi!hhis feet against the door. On two occasions, person{s} unk tried to get in the door. but he was able to hold It
ad. While in the storage room, on at least 2 occasions he heard someone enter a walk in frig in the",IChen. He heard voices in the kitchen, and described them being in normal tones, but could notunderstand what was being said. He thought he heard walkie-talkies during this time.
While in the storage room, a 911 can was made and the occupants of the room talked with a dispatcheridentified as Heather Leitz's father. They remained in the storage room from 1130 untfI1400, at which timeSW AT officers broke into the room and escorted them from the school via the teachers

NVESTIGATJON:In 5/4/99 Investigator Reker and I met with Laura Green at her residence, reference the Columbine3hootJng. Jexplained to Laura why we were there talking to her today. I asked Laura if she was In thecafeteria at the time of the shooting and she said "Yes" she was. At this time I showed her a sketch of thecafeteria and asked Laura to circle the area where she had been silling. Laura circled table "KK" andplaced an "x" where she was silting. I asked Laura to tall me what happened that day when she was in thecafeteria. Laure said that she was sitting at the tabie and saw Mr. Sanders run by telling everyone to getdown underneath the tables. Laura said she then heard a gunshot. Laura said everyone stayed under thetables for a short time and then started running up the stairwav. I asked Laura if she knew where thegu -ots were coming from and she said she believed they were coming from outside by the cafeteriawinuow. Laura said when they ran up the stairs, they went to the choir room. They stayed there for a shorttime and then she and approximately 60 other stucents went into the choir office. Laura said that while inthe choir office. various students barricaded themselves in there by putting filing cabinets and desks by thedoor so no one could get in. Laura said someone tumec off tha lights to make nlook like no one was there.I asked Laura how long she was in that office and she said approximately 4 hours until a SWAT team cameand opened the doer to get them out. I asked Laura if she heard any other gunshots while In the choir officeand she said yes, she heard "heavy gunshots' and felt possibly one or twc explosions through the floeringof the schooi, I asked Laura how she exited the building once the SWAT team was there and She said theywent through the auditorium to the stage and out the back doer towards the cafeteria and then up the stairsand outside.
i asked Laura if she se« any of the shooters and she said no, she did not. I asked Laura what time she wasin the cafeteria. and she said approximately 11:00 a.rn. I asked Laura if she saw any duffel bags in thecafeteria when she was there and she said, "no". I asked If she saw anyone carrying in large duffel bagsand she again said "no". I asked Laura if she saw Eric or Dylan on Monday or Tuesday of that week andshe said no, she did not. i asked Laura if she left any of her property in the cafeteria and she said she didleave an Eddie Bauer purple backpack containing her school books and papers. I asked Laura if she hadheard any rumors regarding any other suspects, bombs or guns which were involved. Laura said thaI sheremembers talking to a girl in her church, who said she saw a shooter dressed In a white shirt. I askedLaura what the girl's name is and she said Nicole Janda. I asked Laura what she was wearing on the dayof' shooting and she said she had on a green skirt and blue sweater.
