The Jetta remains Volkswagen’s best-selling car, but VW never rests on success and is continuously striv-ing to make its vehicles even better.
Under hood, the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine in the SE and SEL trim lines has been replaced by a new 1.8-liter turbocharged and direct-injection four-cylinder engine. The engine makes 170 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque.
VW’s engineers also made some other significant mechani-cal improvements for 2014. On the cars fitted with the available 1.8T engine, the hydraulic power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering has been replaced by an electric-assist system, in line with the TDI and GLI models. All 2014 Jetta models now have a multilink rear suspension, replacing the previous torsion-beam layout.
Inside, the Media Device Interface cable has been relocated from the glovebox to the center console, while SEL, TDI with Premium, and TDI with Premium and Navigation trims receive a rearview camera. The SE with Connectivity and Sunroof adds
Keyless access with push-button start. A navigation system and auto-matic transmission are now standard on the SEL.
Volkswagen introduces its VW Car-Net connected services on the 2014 Jetta lineup. VW Car-Net offers a wealth of security and convenience features, including Automatic Crash Notification, roadside assistance, and stolen vehicle location assistance. In addition, VW Car-Net adds: remote vehicle access; boundary and speed alerts; a vehicle health report; and an enhanced POI service on vehicles equipped with a navigation system. Most of the features can be adminis-tered through a handy smartphone app.
At the front, the coupe-like incline of the windscreen and the consistent use of horizontal lines define the Jetta’s design. The horizontal blades in the grille, together with the blades in the lower intake, are designed to make the Jetta appear wider and more dynamic.

Escape offers Ford’s broadest nameplate range of EcoBoost engine choices yet. Strong fuel economy comes from either the available 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine or 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine.
Both new engines combine EcoBoost’s core technologies of direct fuel injection and turbocharg-ing and add twin indepen-dent variable camshaft
timing (Ti-VCT) to deliver even better miles per gal-lon and save customers money on fuel.
In Escape, EcoBoost engines are mated to spe-cially calibrated, six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmissions, which are standard and allow drivers who want more hands-on experiences to manually control gear selection from a switch on the left-hand side of the shifter.
The standard engine is an updated 2.5-liter, giving the new Escape a com-prehensive lineup of four-cylinder offerings. It also is matched to a SelectShift Automatic six-speed.
Also aiding fuel econ-omy is Escape’s sleeker
design. The new model is nearly 10 percent more aerodynamic than the out-going model.
The new Escape’s active grille shutter system, which is on all models with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost and 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines, reduces wind resistance. Grille slats stay open when extra engine cooling air is required, such as low-speed stop-and-go driving. When cruising on the highway at steady speeds, the grille slats auto-matically close to improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.

Cadillac SRX offers a roomy interior, with seating for five and a large cargo area. Its design is classic Cadillac, with luxury that touches every aspect of the vehicle.
The 2014 SRX offers Intel-libeam headlamps as part of the Driver Awareness Package. It automatically deploys high-beam headlamps when needed and instantly turns them down when oncoming traffic is detected. Also new for 2014 is an 18-inch chrome-plated wheel, available on the Luxury Collection, along with a trio of
exterior colors. There’s also a new interior color combination: Caramel with Ebony accents.
SRX is offered in a base model and three option col-lections: Luxury, Perfor-mance and Premium, with all-wheel drive offered on all but the Base model. All models are powered by a direct-injected 3.6L V-6 rated at 308 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. of torque. It is matched with the Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic trans-mission, which features a driver-selectable Eco feature
that alters the shift points for up to 1-mpg improved fuel economy in normal driving conditions.
While Cadillac’s luxury cross-over maintains its well-heeled exterior design, with striking angles and refined details, the SRX has never looked better. The signature shield piece grille design offers expressive depth for an overall richer appearance. Flanking the grille are Cadillac’s iconic vertical headlamps, with light pipe tech-nology and available Adaptive Forward Lighting technology
that turns the lamps in the direction of the front wheels.
For a quieter driving experi-ence, the SRX offers active noise cancellation. This system uses microphones to detect ambient noise, the frequencies of which are processed by a computer that directs counter-acting sound waves through the audio system to tailor the sound quality and character inside the cabin.

The 2014 Ram 1500 delivers best-in-class fuel economy with a truckload of
pioneering, fuel-saving systems includ-ing: eight-speed automatic transmission, stop-start system, thermal management system, pulse-width modulation and active aerodynamics, including grille shutters and air suspension.
Aptly branded EcoDiesel, the new 3.0-liter powerplant is a turbocharged 60-degree, 24-valve V-6 that produces 240 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque.
Like the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 gasoline engines already offered on the Ram 1500, the new EcoDiesel V-6 is mated to the TorqueFlite 8, the only eight-speed automatic trans-mission offered in the half-ton class.

For the 2013 model year, engineers for the Jeep Wrangler — the most capable and recognized vehicle in the world — focused their attention on interior ergonomics and 4x4 capability. Jeep Wrangler offers many options for top configurations from soft to body-color three-piece hard tops. New for 2013 is a revised soft top on Unlim-ited models that is easier to raise and lower, especially when operated by one person.
Another highlight is the addition of a premium soft top. Available on all mod-els, the new, premium soft top uses an easier to clean, upscale material. Consisting of three layers, the new top also helps reduce interior noise and is easier to fasten.
The 2013 Jeep Wrangler delivers unmatched off-road capability with legendary four-wheel drive and is pro-duced with more than seven decades of 4x4 engineering experience. Wran-gler continues to offer a body-on-frame design, front and rear five-link sus-pension system, live axles, electronic lockers, and is one of the few mid-size SUVs that offers a six-speed manual transmission — in addition to its five-speed automatic transmission.
The award-winning 3.6-liter V-6 engine provides efficiency up to 21 miles per gallon, while delivering 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2013 Jeep Wrangler is available with several axle gear ratios allowing customers to optimize fuel economy and/or vehicle capability. Wrangler offers towing capability up to 3,500 pounds.

The 2.5-liter engine is redesigned to be lighter and more efficient. Horsepower is increased to estimated 182 hp (from 175 hp), while torque remains the same at 180 lb-ft. The advanced, award-winning 3.5-liter V6 remains rated at 270 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
Helping increase fuel
economy with both engines is the next-generation Xtronic CVT. A full 70 per-cent of the parts have been redesigned and internal friction reduced by up to 40 percent. It also features new control logic and expanded gear ratio coverage, which helps reduce noise and fuel consumption while improving drivability and responsiveness.
