They never come on time and it takes forever to do a simple thing as going to the supermarket. I couldn't imagine a life here in Australia without a car. It makes it much easier to go on daytrips and to the beach. It is also a nightmare to bring a surfboard into the bus. With a car it fits right on top of the roof. It also saves you money if you choose to sleep in the car during trips. So to summarize... Don't ever count on public transportation - get a car!!

You don't have to worry about public transport, expensive car-rental-fees or any trouble with buying an own car. Manfred, the founder, is really trustworthy, will help you with all of your concerns regarding a rental car and he won't push you in any contracts. It's also worth it to meet up with him for a drink or a surf. The public transport situation at the Gold Coast is really bad. Just as an example: From Bond Uni to Burleigh Heads (one of the best surfspots on the eastcoast of Australia) you'll need over one hour by bus. If you drive by your own, you won't need any longer then 10 minutes. Having a car, while you study at Bond is highly recommended. Share one with your flatmates, so you'll save time, money and especially a lot of stress.

A car therefore was essential in order to make my every a lot easier. Buying a car was for me a big deal which was why the buy-back-deal I got from Manfred was perfect.

My girlfriend and I may have been the most difficult costumers EVER!!

First, someone drove in to us during the night making a big scratch on the door and afterwards someone else drove into us leaving the car useless. Despite all these troubles, Manfred managed to get us a new car every time and was overall very understanding and professional. If we had bought a car ourselves, we would have had to deal with all of these problems our self which would have been very pricy. So I can definitely recommend everyone using Bond student cars!!

I also really appreciate that I basically don't have any risk, as I will get a decent price back when I leave Australia. So for me this is like a cheap long term lease, which is just awesome for international students staying here for one or two semesters. I strongly recommend!

In Queensland, you need a car if you want to see more than just the university. Even after uni a car is recommended if you want to see Sydney for example! I have had two different cars in the time and can say that the Bond cars are in a proper condition. Although there are no new cars, but they run reliably. Therefore from minor defects one should not be put off. Bond Cars are like a good relationship and small problems are a part of every relationship. If one takes good care of the car, the relationship can be a long time. Some water and oil and you will have a good time! Dennis

Greg Dallinga If your a student at Bond Uni and you want the full experience of the Gold Coast than there is no better option than to rent a car from Bond Student Cars. The price is unbeatable, would have paid just as much in public transportation and would have seen half of what I did. Whether it is driving to the grocery store, the beach, or one of the national parks near by having a car is the best way to go, and Manfred makes renting or buying one simple. Waiting for the bus to the beach and then sitting on the bus for 45 minutes when the beach is only 3 K's away just doesn't make sense, it was amazing to have the freedom that comes with a car to go to whichever beach in the are you would like and be there in 5 minutes. I highly recommend Bond Student Cars.

Oliver Buss I have started looking for cars on the internet even before arriving at Bond as I have already known that I'm going to buy one. Quickly I felt lost due to the plenty of cars offered on the internet and the different requirements when buying a car such as registration, service, insurance and the uncertainty wether the car you are going to buy is well serviced or not. Julian Höding Really good deal! At first, we were a bit sceptic if this one-man company will deliver us a working car for the whole time and if our money is well invested. What will happen, if our car breaks down? Will we then be able to do our buy-back deal and get the money back? These were the main thoughts when deciding either to hire a car from a well-known car rental or to do the buy-back deal with Manfred as we just arrived in that unfamiliar and new country Australia. But I have to say that all this reservation in the first place had no reason at all. We decided for the buy-back deal because it was a lot cheaper, Manfred left a good impression and we were able to split the money/risk through 6 people. We then got a car that fitted to our needs, a 7-seater and much space for the surf boards and trips. Every time there was an issue with the car, and that unfortunately happened 2 times in 4 months, Manfred was accessible and had a good solution. He was always interested in the fact that we have a working car available and I think that he sees in the contract a service to students that they never have to wonder about their car situation. When paying back the money, we actually made a capital gain due to the exchange rate (AUD/EUR) and that made the deal even cheaper. To summarise: Manfred’s car business gives you for very less money a working car, they are not the newest but in good shape, and a good service for everything that comes with it. The main advantage is that you save a lot of money for being flexible (and the public transportation system at the Gold Coast sucks), but you have to keep in mind some disadvantages: you bind a lot of money for your stay and you have an exchange rate risk.
