Command Center PC (Windows) Installation Guide
Introduction
The Great Lakes Health Connect (GLHC) Command Center runs on the Medicity iNexx
Platform The GLHC Command Center contains several GLHC applications including
Referrals Direct iNBox and ADT The Command Center is deployed by GLHC to the Medicity
iNexx Platform that is installed on ONE server or computer at either the sitersquos location or
hosting provider
The purpose of this document is to guide the reader through the process of installing the
iNexx Platform on a Windows based server or PC for a site or organization and configuring the
Windows Firewall if needed
Preparing for Installation Deploying the iNexx platform in a practice means a web application is installed on one and
only one Host machine Users access the iNexx platform from any computer connected to
the officersquos local network via a specific URL as in the following example
(httpHostMachineNamePortWhereiNexxLives) The URL is entered into a browser
(Internet Explorer Safari Firefox etc) Therefore iNexx is not installed on each machine
from which it is to be accessed

Note The specific requirements below are for a private practice and are for the HOST machine only Configurations may require additional hardware based on the volume for the practice If the practice network is configured for proxy use the proxy settings must be available

3 Select the ldquohererdquo link pertaining to the Windows Platform
4 ldquoRUNrdquo the iNexx Platformexe by following the prompts as you go Respond with
run or next to all prompts The software is safe to install

Installing the iNexx Platform 1 When the iNexx Platform Setup-Welcome Wizard window appears click Next
2 Click Next to accept the default installation location
3 Accept the terms in the End User License Agreement and click the Next button
4 Select the Next button in the following window

5 When the Validation Information window appears enter the required information

7 At the final Setup Wizard screen check the Show Enablement Status box and then click the Finish button
The installation process is now complete Note In order for GLHC to enable the Platform to connect to the network the Platform ID must be sent to the Implementation Consultant or Hospital Lead that is working with the site The following are the steps to obtain and send the Platform ID in Windows 7

4 Select Show enablement status
5 The following screen will display that includes the Platform ID
6 To send the Platform ID enter the email address of your Implementation Consultant or Hospital Deployment Lead in the Trusted Party email field Hint This is the same email address of the person who provided this Guide to you If you are unsure contact the Practice Manager of the requesting site

Configuring the Windows Firewall IMPORTANT The following contains instructions to allow incoming connections on port
31415 within (A) Windows XP Windows Server 2003 (B) Windows 7 Windows Server 2008
and (C) Windows 8 Windows Server 2012 To configure the firewall of the PCServer to
accept incoming connections on port 31415 locally within the network refer to your Third
Party IT technical provider or follow the next steps
Windows XP and Server 2003 1 Click on the Start Settings and then select Control Panel and then Windows Firewall
2 Click on the Exceptions tab
3 Click on the Add Port button
4 On the Add a Port window for the Name field type iNexx Platform For the Port Number field type 31415 Select the TCP radio button and then click on the OK button
5 Click the OK button at the bottom of the Windows Firewall window
