Provide relevant technical education and training to support student goals, a skilled workforce, and the economic vitality of our communities.
Knowledge That Works
Fox Valley Technical College has been providing job training and education to our communities since 1912 – that’s more than 100 years. We’ve adapted to changing community needs and new technology, while continuing to give students the current skills employers are looking for.
Last year, 94% of our graduates were employed within six months of graduation. In fact, 80 of our programs had 100% graduate employment.
Every year, we serve nearly 50,000 people. We train the people who serve and protect us every day. Our nurses, accountants, chefs and carpenters. Our mechanics, firefighters, marketers, entrepreneurs, child care providers and welders. Our truck drivers, police officers, landscapers, electricians, software developers and hundreds of other great careers. Most of these local technicians and professionals received their initial or continuing education from Fox Valley Technical College.
Our students gain a more global view of the world by traveling abroad for study opportunities or by staying right here in Wisconsin. Students come to study at Fox Valley Technical College from over 40 countries around the world.
Whether you are just beginning your higher education journey after high school, changing careers, or looking to enhance your skills, Fox Valley Tech will be with you every step of the way. We are your lifelong learning partner.

Congratulations, graduates!
As we conclude a very challenging 2020, the college community comes together in a virtual venue to celebrate one of the most important milestones in your life – commencement. While not an ideal way to celebrate and congratulate, we need to acknowledge this special moment in time not only for you as you are recognized for achieving your educational goals, but for the people who have supported you along the way.
You should be very proud of your accomplishments. During your time at Fox Valley Technical College, you have acquired the knowledge and skills that you’ll need for success in your chosen career. You have also grown as an individual. For many of you, the support and encouragement of family and friends have enabled you to succeed. They surely take great pride in your achievement.
The college’s faculty and staff also share this feeling of pride and admire the hard work and perseverance you have demonstrated in achieving your goals. We share your excitement as you begin the next stage of your life’s journey, even in these uncertain times.
Commencement, however, doesn’t mark an end to education. Instead, it is truly just the beginning, as lifelong learning will be essential in meeting the challenges of the ever-changing workplace. We stand ready as a resource to help you continue your education and to enhance your employability skills so that you can achieve success and personal fulfillment in your career for many years to come.

To the Graduating Class
Chanel Becker Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate in Applied Science Degree
As a child, Chanel knew she wanted to study occupational therapy. She witnessed first-hand the transformative work of occupational therapy; her niece was born with a genetic disorder and Chanel watched with amazement as occupational therapists taught her niece to function independently.
After completing her bachelor’s degree, Chanel decided to pursue her ‘perfect degree’ and enrolled in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Fox Valley Technical College.
She enjoys helping others help themselves, and strives to build in others a feeling of hope and independence. In her time at Fox Valley Tech, Chanel has especially appreciated the expertise and compassion of her teachers.
After graduation, Chanel plans to continue working as a respite provider while studying for her National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy exam.

Becky Bartoszek President and CEO Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Regional Partnership
Becky Bartoszek is the President and CEO of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Regional Partnership. Having relocated to Wisconsin in 1998, Becky’s previous experience included Vice President of the Great Lakes for Alltel Wireless, Market Leader for the QTI Group, and small business owner of a State Farm Agency.
Becky currently serves on the New North Board of Directors, the Coordinating Committee for Imagine Fox Cities, and the Advisory Board for the Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives. In addition, she is currently appointed by Governor Evers to his Advisory Council on Workforce Investment where she serves as the co-chair of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Committee.
Becky and her husband Brian live in the Freedom area with their two teenagers, Ben (18) and Annabel (16.) They enjoy watching their children play sports and making short trips to their cottage in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Ceremonial History & Regalia
The college president confers degrees by the power vested in him or her by the Board of Trustees; however, degrees are only granted upon the recommendation of the college faculty, who are the heart of a college education. The processional is, therefore, a symbolic declaration that members of the academic community are bound by a common purpose and commitment to the ideals of higher education.
The apparel worn in the processional is also symbolic, with its origin in the Middle Ages. Colleges and universities grew out of church schools, so faculty and students were regarded as part of the clergy and wore monastic dress. The style and decoration of the gown identifies the degree earned. Hoods are worn by those with a master’s or doctoral degree, with velvet trim on the gowns of those holding a doctoral degree. The traditional hat developed from the skull cap worn in cold weather. In Europe, a bonnet with a tassel is still worn, but in America it has been replaced by the mortarboard cap with tassel.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor SocietyPhi Theta Kappa is an international honor society which recognizes and encourages
scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunities for developing leadership and service skills, exchanging ideas and ideals in an intellectual climate, developing lively friendships between scholars and stimulating interest in continuing academic excellence. To be eligible for induction to Phi Theta Kappa, a student must have completed 12 or more associate degree credits with an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
