To check thermistor resistance, follow the steps below. 1) Move the power switch to the "OFF" position, then unplug the appliance. 2) Remove the control box cover. 3) Disconnect and remove the thermistor in question. 4) Immerse the thermistor sensor portion in a glass containing ice and water for 2 to 3 min. 5) Check the resistance between the wires at the thermistor connector. Normal reading is within 16.0 to 16.7 kΩ. If outside the normal reading, replace the thermistor.

DEFROST New Danfoss Controller

• Refrigerator- off cycle defrost, defrost Icon will light up • Time initiated once every 2 hours • Terminates when defrost thermistor reaches 40°F (4.4°C) • Defrost minimum time is 20 minutes, maximum 1 hour

• Freezer- heated defrost, defrost Icon will light up and “def” will be displayed • Initiated by temperature/compressor run-time • Temperature initiated defrost thermistor reaches 32°F (0°C), compressor

initiated happens when cumulative compressor run time equals 4 hours without a defrost

• Terminates when defrost thermistor reaches 59°F (15°C), a 3 min. Compressor delay timer starts, a 7 min. evaporator fan delay starts, and an 18 min. temperature delay timer start NOTE: the 7min. evap. fan delay is a max., if thermistor cools to 25ºF (3.9ºC) before 7min. timer terminates the evap. fan will energize

• Defrost minimum time is 20 minutes, maximum 1 hour Manual Defrost can be achieved by pressing manual defrost button
