CEO STATEMENT

Global demand for sustainable sources of high-quality, low-priced seafood is greater than ever. The MANN GROUP is well positioned to capatilize on this ever increasing demand with our substantial White Fish and Ground Fish quotas, and our symbiotic assets and operations.

The MANN GROUP has been fishing the coast

of British Columbia, Canada for over 40

years. It has taken a lifetime to assemble the

MANN GROUP’s holdings, which include The

Osprey No. 1, BC’s newest and largest mid-

water freezer trawler, a substantial quota, and

complimentary assets at the Port of Vancouver.

The Osprey No.1 is a state of the art, 57.8 meter

freezer stern trawler built in 1998 in Denmark.

The Osprey No. 1 produces 250,000 lbs of block

frozen product per day and caries 1.4 m lbs of

FAST - frozen at sea in time - fish per trip.

The MANN GROUP’s license has enabled the

the Osprey No. 1 to produce nearly 50% of the

frozen at sea Hake caught in British Columbia.

Pacific Hake is a white fish of the Cod family.

It is a very large bio-mass, of which the MANN

GROUP owns 8.9882% of the quota.

The MANN GROUP also owns 4.645% of the

Uncut Groundfish quota and 7.235% of the

Arrowtooth Flounder quota.

In order to take advantage of the quotas and the

T-65 trawl license, the MANN GROUP intends

to stretch the Osprey No. 1 to its maximum

allowable length of 71.76 meters. The stretched

vessel will fit at the current base of operations

at the company’s own lease at the Port of

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Ron Mann Began His Fishing Carreer

The Osprey No. 1’s average daily catch was between 70,000 - 95,000 lbs in

2014. Since then, upgrades in holding & freezing technologies, and adding

66% more freezers has enabled daily production of up to 250,000 pounds.

From humble beginnings in the

early 1970s, the Mann Group has

siezed opportunities and made

strategic investments that have

enabled them to grow their family

run business year over year.

The Manns purchased a 57.8 m freezer stern trawler. At 2024 gross mt, it is

the largest F/T on the Canadian west coast. In ‘06, the Manns purchased a

leasehold at the Port of Vancouver and later, the adjacent property.

The Nootka Mariner was converted 100% to trawl fishing, and Mariner

Seafoods was formed by Hetty Mann to buy, process, and market the Nootka

Mariner’s catch. In 2004, the Manns bought another trawler, the 25.6 m

As others feared the implementation of a quota system, the Manns siezed

the opportunity. Throughout the 90s, they bought several older boats that

were licensed to fish groundfish, as well as additional groundfish licenses.

In ‘89 Ron and Hetty bought a 30 m trawler/trap boat, the Nootka Mariner.

They began to fish sablefish by trap and groundfish by trawl.

Shortly after their marriage in ‘76, Ron and Hetty formed Osprey Marine Ltd.

In 1978, they built a 20 meter salmon seiner which they named Osprey No.1

in 1970, Ron Mann started fishing. By 1974, he had acquired a 1/2 interest

in a small salmon fishing operation.

OSPREY NO. 1 MID-WATER TRAWLER

Built in 1998 in Denmark, the Osprey No. 1 is the largest mid-water freezer trawler on the Canadian west coast. At 57.8 meters, & over 2000mt, the Osprey No. 1 is 34% longer than the next largest vessel and has twice the production capacity.

The Osprey No. 1 is the culmination of 70 years in the business - fishing, and process engineering.

Annual overhauls and critical investments in technology have enabled the Osprey No. 1

to produce 50% of the frozen-at-sea Pacific Hake industry’s product.

Stretching the Osprey by twenty four percent

The MANN GROUP’S T-65 Trawl

licence permits a 71.76 meter vessel.

COMPANY OVERVIEWMariner Seafoods’ wholly owned lease and buildings at the Port of Vancouver are dedicated 24/7/365 to The Osprey No.1 for its unloading, operations, and maintenance.

Fishing methods to ensure year-after-year growth and sustainability. Mariner seafoods is committed to delivering the highest quality MSC Certified Pacific Hake and Arrowtooth Flounder to the international markets. Our continued investment into our vessel and on-shore operations has proven successful.

Mariner Seafoods is excited to annunce our next step in our expansion plan. We will stretch the Osprey No. 1to its maximum allowable length to take advantage of our total allowable catch. This is the next step in our ambitious growth strategy and will result in a turn- key, state-of-the-art, frozen at sea fish factory & fish meal plant.

Substantial investments in the freezer trawler’s factory and dock side operations have led to increased profits

Company owned port side operations allows for fast and economical turn around times and maintenance

Extention of the vessel in 2018 will lead to additional freezer capacity and new markets for new products

Recent trade agreements between Canada and the EU opens previously restricted markets and allows Mariner Seafoods International direct access to key consumers

Extensive planning has taken place and the MANN GROUP has

hired the original designer to stretch the Osprey No. 1 to its MOL

- maximum overall length of 71.76 meters. The new Osprey No.

1 will include a fish meal plant and additional freezing, enabling

multiple new high-margin product lines and new markets.

Mariner Seafoods produces close to 24%

of the total BC Pacific Hake industry’s catch

“Hake is considered one of the best fish

in the Whiting family because of its firm,

sweet, white meat and medium flake.”MSC

It’s consumption is growing globally.

Mariner is a family run business. The

Mann family, Ron and Hetty and their

four daughters, have been in the fishing

industry for four decades.

FAS-T ™ - Forzen at Sea in Time for freshness. The Osprey No.1 can produce

250,000 pounds of 26 kg frozen block, MSC Certified, HGT (head, gut, and

fish is sent to the freezer. FAS-T ™ ensures the Osprey No. 1 produces the

highest quality product.

MARINE STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL

The Marine Stewardship Council is an international non-profit organisation

established to address the problem of unsustainable fishing and safeguard

seafood supplies for the future. The vision is for the world’s oceans to be

teeming with life – today, tomorrow and for generations to come. A sustainable

seafood market is crucial to making this vision a reality. MSC works with

fisheries and businesses around the world to achieve this mission.

FOCUS ON THE FUTURE

The future lies in the sustainability of the fishery and the quality of the

products produced. The MSC Certified Hake fishery is in good standing, so

much so that the Total Allowable Catch has increased substantially in 2017.

In addition to the FAS-T ™ Block, MSC HGT Hake, the Mann’s are considering

sales of offal (HGT) & bycatch to the pet food, bait, and aquacultire industries.

“Ron and Hetty built the first Osprey in their backyard in 1978 and things proceeded to take off from there,” Shannon Mann. “There are four girls in this family that help run the business alongside our parents,” and they have done an exceptional job!

KEY FINANCIALS

The Mann Group’s strategic investments in the Osprey No. 1, the Port of Vancouver lease and improvements, and the family business have paid dividends.

The Osprey No. 1 avereged a 12.5 day turnaround during the 2016 season. That’s 1,400,000 pounds of HGT Hake

landed, logged and transfered to cold storage before heading out to international clients every 12.5 days.

This year, 2017, it is looking like an average turn around of 10 days and an increase of about 3,000 tonnes overall.
