Committees of the Association
The present committee structure of the Association was
approved by the Council in October, 1956, and a state- ment of the functions of existing committees, together with a roster of committee memberships, was published in the Spring, 1957, issue of the AAUP Bulletin. Sub-
sequently, other standing committees were established by the Council and new committee rosters were published from time to time.
Approximately one third of the committee terms ex-
pire with the adjournment of each Annual Meeting, and new appointments to committees are made in the spring and summer. A list of committee assignments is pub- lished annually in the Bulletin, with the date of expira- tion given after each name.
The Constitution provides that the President shall be ex officio a member of all committees of the Association
except the Nominating Committee. By vote of the Coun-
cil, on April 28, 1961, the General Secretary was made a member ex officio of Committees A, I, J, O, and T.
