FIRST - Kings Park St. Patricks Day Pa- rade, on Saturday, May 7 th . Its always been a great parade. Starting at noon, folks have always enjoyed the parade and the corned beef and cabbage at the Main Street Pub af- terwards. Happily, parking has never been a problem, provided you get there no later than 11:00 AM. The Kings Park LIRR station has plenty of untaken parking spaces available. Meet us adjacent to the lot, along the parade route. Hope to see you there. Wear the green! SECOND - the play, Guys And Dolls”, on Saturday, March 14th, at 8:00 PM, at The Bay Way Theater in E Islip. Senior seats are $25.00. This theater has long been a club fa- vorite for the last ¼ century. If you want to join us, please know this is a very popular show. Tickets sell fast. Call the theater on your own and reserve your seats today, before they sell out. Our host is Carol Blair. After youve made your theater reservations please call her to say youll be part of the group for dinner at Jack- son Hall before the show. (See flyer in Jib) THIRD - Birthday Babies dinner. Thursday, March 19 th , Olive Garden, Bay Shore. Meet at 6:30 PM. Host: Kathyann Peccia. The res- taurant has always provided a fine meal with a touch of Italian class. Please call Kathy by March 16 th to reserve. (631) 661-4489 See you there. Dont forget our planning meeting on March 12th at the Commack Library. We need your ideas and input. Announcement: We are still pushing membership and putting the 2020 member- ship renewal application in the Jib. Please send your membership dues to Carol Rizzo if you have not already done so. Her address is: 36 Saratoga Ave., Medford, NY 11763. The renewal fee is now $80.00, as the Mem- ber Renewal deadline has passed. Please fill out and include the renewal application with you check. Into the Future I think its important to find another place for LISSA Socials. Why, be- cause Socials provide a place to get together as a group, meet friends, share stories, have a drink and a few dances. Socials are also good for providing a venue for special events like Halloween, St. Patricks and St. Valen- tines Day, Thanksgiving and, especially, Planning Meetings. Three or 4 times a year, itd be nice to be able to gather as a club. There must be several places out there we could check. And so, if anyone has an idea where to go, a place that might supply some food and/or coffee and dessert, and entertain a DJ, let me know. Lets be creative. See You All – Out There !!

HAPPY MARCH BIRTHDAY

A message from the Rear Commodore…. I attempted to list information for parks, beaches, and other recreation locations and events in the several western Suffolk County towns, with varying success. Visit and/or download the various sites for more information and ideas for future LISSA events. Babylon Town requires registration by Town residents only for most activities and lo-cations. Exceptions may be certain proprietary locations at Tanner Park and Venetian Shores. Brookhaven Town has an interactive downloadable recreation guide; the current ver-sion is for Winter activities Go to: Winter-Recreation-Guide-PDF Huntington Town has an online guide for Winter activities but it does not list locations. Go To: Winter-Recreation-Guide-PDF Islip Town Download a copy of Recreation News - Go To: Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Recreation Card and Senior ID RESIDENT: $30 NON-RESIDENT: $50 - Non-Resident cards are for use at Ronkonkoma Beach ONLY ** Senior ID Card Age 60+ Free from Suffolk County Office for the Aging - Issued at Brookwood Hall: 50 Irish Lane, East Islip. Admits resident seniors to most Islip lo-cations, events and programs. Go To: Recreation Card and Senior ID.

Special bonus for Islip residents 60 and over: Free parking permit for the Bay Shore Marina when summer parking fees are in effect. Just ask for it. Islip has trips and events open to non-residents also. Smithtown has two different online brochures. One for locations and facilities and one for programs The current ones are for winter activities. ---GEORGE
