Usually used to make dry, racy wines with strong mineral character, citrus aromas mixed with an earthy, mineral aftertaste due to the volcanic soil of Santorini. MALAGOUZIA Especially, aromatic white grape, cultivated mainly in Macedonia, leadingto elegant light body wines, with medium acidity and exciting aromas ofexotic fruits, citrus, jasmine and mint. MOSCHOFILERO A light pink-skinned variety, mostly common in Peloponnese, used to producelively crisp wines as well as richer, fuller bodied- versions. Usually intensely fragrant, even pungent, with bright citrus character. VIDIANO A white variety found in Crete. It produces wines with lemony green color, intense, individual and very complex aromas of ripe peach and apricot, hints of aromatic herbs and minerality. AGHIORGITIKO This red variety, is most commonly found in Nemea-Peloponnese. It produces medium- to high- acid wines depending on elevations and soil profiles. Deep red fruits (plum and cherry) and spice. Considered to be one of Greece’s best red varietals and biggest producing red variety. MAVRODAPHNE Mainly cultivated in the prefectures of Achaia, Ilia and Cephalonia. It gives deep colored wines with a complex aromatic character, that becomes even more complex while aging and maturing. Aromas of ripe red fruits are combined with the aromas of spices, tobacco and herbs. Exuberant flavors with moderate acidity. LIMNIONA Originating from Thessaly and specifically from the areas of Karditsa and Tyrnavos, has an extremely deep and vivid purple red color. On the nose it is rich, very expressive, with intense black fruit, minerality and cooking spices, while there is a great affinity to new oak. The palate has a great line, with a firm, textured but never aggressive tannin frame. XINOMAVRO Considered one of Greece’s greatest varietals and responsible for its most serious reds. Mostly found in Naoussa- Macedonia. Notoriously fickle to grow, it is a late-ripening variety, producing powerful, structured, richly flavored wines with solid tannins.
