(2) EJC Week of Generosity Activities October 12 - 18, 2013
The East Jamaica Conference Administrators and staff extended love and kindness to the residents of the GoldenAge Home and Denham TownHome for the aged onWednesday October 16, 2013.
Staff members from the Officesang and prayed with theresidents of the Golden AgeHome as well as interacted withand served them with anassortment of fresh fruits.
The reaction from theadministration and staff at bothhomes was consistent with thatof the golden agers, yhey wereoverjoyed at the gesture. Their smiles and happy facesconveyed their emotions well.

(3) Congratulations to Ogarth Bryan - The New 2013 JAMU Bible Boom Champion
The Youth Ministries Department wishes to congratulate Ogarth Bryan for his outstanding performance at theJAMU Bible Boom finals held at the Maranatha SDAChurch in Mandeville.
Ogarth Bryan, a member of the Arnold Road Church andwinner of the EJC Bible Boom Finals walked away withthe top prize and did himself, his church ( Arnold RoadSDA Church) and the Conference proud in accomplishingthis important milestone.
On Sabbath, October 18, 2013 a group of fourteen (14)supporters including the Youth Director, Pastor HansonDrysdale and his family journeyed to Maranatha,Mandeville for the JAMU Bible Boom Finals. There theywitnessed the sharp, confident yet humble contestant fromEJC being declared winner.
We wish him all the best as he prepares to represent the Jamaica Union at the Bible Boom Inter-AmericanDivision Championships which will take place in Cuba during the month of December.

The East Jamaica Conference Elders' Association (Kingston Chapter) invites all Elders, Church Leaders &Pastors to the next scheduled general meeting where special guest presenter, Dr. Gosnell York, Director - E.G.White Resource Center, NCU will address the body on the topic :' The Role of Ellen White in the SDA
Church'.

1. Sabbath School superintendents and Personal Ministries leaders are reminded of the end of quarter report which is now overdue (10th October 2013). Congratulations to Content Gap for being the firstchurch to send their third Quarter report on time.
2. Week of Generosity/Day of Kindness –
October 12-17, 2013. All churches are encouraged to senda report of your project (in your cluster) to the Personal Ministries Department.
3. We thank our churches for the positive embracement of Harvest Ingathering 2013. We congratulateThornton SDA Church for being the first to reach its ingathering goal and making its remittance to theConference. We use this opportunity to encourage everyone to continue soliciting and that all treasurers
do a weekly remittance to the Conference.
4. There will be a special seminar for all Community Services volunteer on October 20, 2013 at 9 a.m inthe EJC boardroom; this will help persons prepare for investiture on November 16, 2013 at the Festivalof the Laity.
5. Monthly Community Services Leaders meeting continue on Sunday, October 27 at 10 a.m in the EJCChapel.
6. MM 14 Meeting – All ministerial interns, Bible workers and other evangelistic workers are invited toattend a special meeting on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 9 a.m in the EJC Chapel.
7. The long awaited Senior Citizens’ month celebration is here: The Zones 1-3 Senior Citizens’Convention will be held on Sabbath, November 23, 2013 at the Constant Spring SDA Church, 9 a.m andZone 4 Convention at Morant Bay SDA on November 30. Banquet will be held on Sunday, November 24, at the Police Officers’ Club, starting at 3 p.m – cost $1000. The deadline for payments is November 7. We seek your support. Belated birthday greetings to our seniors, born January to September & happy birthday to our October celebrants; wishing you good health and long life.
8. EJC School of Evangelism (EJC SOE) general class meeting - October 20, 2013 in the EJC boardroom -PLEASE TAKE YOUR REFRESHMENT.

2. Youth in Leadership Month: November has been designated as Youth Month, where the church isencouraged to allow the youth to take charge of the various church programmes, elect a “mock” church board and officers to function for the month. It’s a means of training our youth to effectively function asleaders within our churches.
3. Zone Four (4) Youth Federation Day: Join the Zone 4 Youth Federation on November 9, 2013 atthe Seaforth SDA for its Grand Federation Day. Pastor Michael Henry- JAMU’s Youth Director is slatedto be guest speaker for this special occasion.
4. Pathfinder Festival: The annual Pathfinder Festival will be held on the grounds of the Kencot SDA,10-12 Osbourne Rd, Kingston 10 on November 24, 2013 commencing at 9 am. All zones should be inhigh gear.
5. Youth Congressoree & Awards Banquet-December 20-22. Start planning for this “NOT TO BEMISSED” event. Guest speaker will be Pastor Keith Morris out of the USA. Plan to be there.

2. All Child Preachers’ are asked to get ready to participate in the Festival of the Laity to be held on
November 16, 2013.
3. EJC Bible Spell-a-thon finals will be held on November 9, 2013 Kingsway School.
4. EJC Bible Spell-a-thon Awards will be held on November 17, 2013 @ EJC
5. All CMD’s whose children are engaged in the Child Preachers’ Training currently are asked to send the
names of the children to the office immediately as well as their assignments. We need to prepare
certificates for them.
