    Voice command mobile telephone installation

    Introduction

This system allows the connection of a mobile phone and to

    use this hands-free.

The hands-free device means that the telephone can be used inside the

vehicle; the driver will not have to remove their hands from the steering wheel

    nor will they be distracted.

    Note

The voice command function is only available in the following languages:

Spanish, German, English, French, Italian and Czech. Other languages (such

as Dutch or Portuguese) will have Spanish as the default language for voice

instructions, and the vehicle must be taken to an Authorised Service Centre

for the change to be made.

There are certain versions of mobile telephone software that contain

    Basic functions

to manage the functions of the hands-free telephone system as well as the

    phone book.

    Phone book

The speech control system offers the option of creating and using an phone

book belonging to the vehicle system and independent of the mobile tele-

phone. This phone book may contain 50 entries.

Also, as soon as a connection is made between the telephone and the hands-

free system (if a compatible adapter or Bluetooth adapter is available), the

numbers stored in the telephone SIM card are downloaded by the hands-free

system and can be displayed on the vehicle instrument panel. These

numbers may be selected using the multi-function lever, allowing calls to be

made by this or by the multi-function wheel.

    WARNING

Please concentrate on driving. As the driver, you have the responsibility

for your safety and that of others. For this reason, you should only use thefunctions in a manner that allows you to maintain control of the vehicle inall situations - otherwise you may create an accident risk!

The speech system must not be used in cases of emergency, since thevoice changes in stressful situations. This could result in a failed or delayed

telephone connection. Always dial emergency numbers manually!

As well as using the speech control, it is possible to use the functions of the

hands-free system from the controls on the steering wheel and from the

multi-function lever. When the connection is established between your mobile telephone and

hands-free device, the phonebook in your SIM card is downloaded to the

    hands-free device.

Depending on the version, when the connection is established between your

mobile telephone and the hands free device, the phonebook in the telephone

is downloaded to the hands free device as well as lost calls, received calls

and last calls. From this moment, the phone book of the telephone as well aslost calls, received calls and last calls are available on the screen of the

    vehicle instrument panel.

By holding in the rocker switch page 6, fig. 2on the multi-function lever

or a brief press on the button answer on the steering wheel controls, the

telephone menu appears on the instrument panel screen, containing the

different telephone options: PHONE BOOK, LOST CALLS, RECEIVED CALLS,

LAST CALLS. Depending on the version, the SIM card phone book will appear page 6, fig. 3

An incoming call may be accepted using the Answer key on the controls

on the steering wheel or even using the key page 6, fig. 2on the multi-

    Dialogue

The voice command system can be activated via the press to

talk key on the phone adapter or the key on the multi-func-

    tion wheel.

In this manual, Dialogue is defined as the time in which the speech control

system may receive vocal commands and provide assistance for completion

of different functions in case the user is hesitant and unsure how to proceed.

The system also responds by vocal messages. The dialogue is activated and

deactivated by pressing the talk button .

If a call is received then the dialogue is interrupted immediately. The call may

    Notes on the phone book

Take note of these tips and suggestions when using thephone book.

It is important that names stored in the phone book have a noticeable

acoustic difference between them so the system can recognise the entries.

In the event that an telephone book entry is not recognised (e.g. if

someone else tries to call-up a name), the phone book entries can be read out

by giving the command PLAY PHONE BOOK.

The numbers 0 to 9 are recognised by the system. Say the numbers clearly

so that the system can recognise them easily.

    Bluetooth

Bluetooth technology enables wireless connections between

mobile and fixed devices without the need for cables.

Mobile communication and information is gaining ever greater importance

for personal use as well as in today's modern business world.

Information transfer between mobile devices up until recently was only

possible through wired and infrared connections.
