Promotional Literature and Booth

We are about out of stock of literature, as planned

We have plenty of banners in the US and the cases have been repaired by us

We have a set of banners in Europe as well to control shipping costs – thank you Christoph and others for looking after them

Distribution

We have supplied 5 meetings this year:ICOPS, NSREC, Power Modulator Conference, SORMA andNSS/MIC

Shipping Test

For this meeting we have experimented with shipping using the USPS fixed rate boxes

For 40 boxes each weighing 20lb, 9Kg, the cost was $1,480

The lowest cost with UPS was $3,370 and Fed Ex $3,724

USPS provides boxes but smaller than we normally use so preparing shipment took longer – normally this would have been 18 boxes

Arrived in a week at Uwe’s Institute, took a further 2 weeks to get to his office!

Membership Data

IEEE has only provided one month of data since our last AdCom – August membership data has no Society membership information.

The following slides show our membership numbers……

This Year’s Membership Numbers

From this and the conference recruiting reports, I deduce that by far the greatest part of our membership increase comes from conference recruiting (322 this year so far, prior to NSS/MIC)

Web Site…..

Many pages are old, old, old and stale, stale, stale.

Please get updates to Dick Kouzes, our web-master

Just look…….

2009 Meetings

New Literature Schedule

You will see that the first meeting of 2009 is very early April

Almost half of our meetings are over by the end of the first week in May!

Ouch, we have to start now to get ready!

IEEE 125-Year Anniversary

IEEE has a 2009 logo that we have to consider using

But, we normally print for 2009 and 2010 Info at

http://www.ieee.org/web/publications/rights/125th.html#use

Action Now

I need reviews of the words we have used – already sent out

I need many new inspirational pictures that “say” the kind of work we do

I need quotes like “NPSS membership and activities are essential to me….”“How did I live (professionally) before I joined NPSS?......”

Make these my Christmas presents from you all!
