Malaysia Day is held on 16 September every year to commemorate the establishment of the Malaysian federation on the same date in 1963. It marks the joining together of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore to form Malaysia. The children sang Jalur Gemilang (Stripes of Glory) and waved the Malaysian Flag praising the unity and harmony of the people of Malaysia. HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION IN CAMBRIDGE Evolving from the ancient Celtic holiday of Samhain, modern Halloween has become less about literal ghosts and ghouls and more about costumes and candy. The Celts used the day to mark the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, and also believed that this transition between the seasons was a bridge to the world of the dead. Over the millennia the holiday transitioned from a sombre pagan ritual to a day of merriment, costumes, parades and sweet treats for children and adults. Cambridge celebrated Halloween day on 28th October 2015. There was a special assembly staged by Year 10 and 11 in the auditorium which was decorated with the Halloween theme and this created an eerie atmosphere that blended with the celebration. The students dressed up in costumes like pirate or pumpkin, paraded on the stage in appropriate attires. We had a few funny characters such as the octopus pirate, the pumpkin pirate and the headless pirate. We also had dark angels and cute vampires that were a treat to watch. There was a lot of innovation from the students and they lit up the atmosphere with their performances.

The KG 1 Teachers explored with the children the nursery rhymes like The Five Little Ducks and Old MacDonald’s Farm. They used it to creatively teach children the ways to spoon feed animals through the Practical Life exercises. Touch and Feel different animal products helped them to learn texture in sensorial exercise, count numbers of animals and explore the use of different parts of language. KG 2 classes worked on Fairy Tales such as The Three Little Pigs, Hansel and Gretel, The Gingerbread Man and Goldilocks and The Three Bears. Club Activities The new academic year (Sep 15-Aug16) of Cambridge started with all students showing interest in participating in different clubs to enhance their skills. Club- Incharges elected the new team of students based on their interests and briefed them on the various activities scheduled for the upcoming year. The Horizon Club The Horizon club focused on Teambuilding activities for the month of September and students were made to work collaboratively to accomplish tasks. Activities like Chinese pasta and making of longest straw saw children participating with full zeal and energy. Chinese Pasta Chinese pasta is a game where each team has to run to the chair with pasta, use the chopstick to pick up the pasta, run back and drop it on the other chair. The trick is to remember to go around the chair with pasta before running back. Each team was given exactly 90 seconds. The team with the most pasta at the end was the winner!

Students engaged in the “Chinese Pasta” team building activity Longest Straw Contest In this game, each team had to connect straws to make a gigantic straw. The trick for this game is to make sure that the straw doesn’t fall apart. If it does fall apart, those straws will not be counted. The team who made the longest straw at the end was the winner!

Creative corner: PEACE Why do people like to fight? Is it because they have the might? Or is it because they think they are right? Or perhaps it is out of spite? But fight gives your heart a fright, It makes your muscles tight, And makes your face an ugly sight, Turning your life into a gloomy blight. But love is very light, like a kite, It soars high, and brings your spirit delight, Remember, it is as simple as being polite, To forgive and be merry despite the slight. In the darkest hour of your night, When the plight had reached such a height, Remember you are the wise knight, So drop the sword and embrace the other in loving delight. So my friend, the answer is always in your plain sight, Hold the other in an embrace tight, Coz the other and you are one, the differences despite Peace is always right. THEME - Earth Oh! What a wonderful place is this, To stay with robins and sparrows. Nothing can substitute this planet’s beauty, Even if they stood in the line for the party, What a beauty with flowers and light, Any one from outer space would like to have this delight. Oh! What a wonderful place is this, To stay with robins and sparrows. The beautiful sea is so much perfect, That most of the creatures stay here day and night. Oh! Why do humans want to spoil such a beauty? Because of them our planet is getting dirty. Oh! What a wonderful place is this, To stay with robins and sparrows. Cars and trucks crawling on roads, Remaining water in every lake and pond has dirty toads.

Because of this we have global warming, All the creatures suffering from forest burning. Oh! What a wonderful place is this, To stay with robins and sparrows. Oh! Why would anyone want to harm such a beauty? Because of them our planet is dying early. So let us try our best, To make the planet the choice of the rest.
