Matt Melamed, Principal David Dinsmore, Assistant Principal February 1, 2013 Dear Park Parents and Guardians, Thank you for your patience during the challenging winter months. With extreme cold and regular snowfall, arrival and dismissal continues to be a stressful time for everyone. Some ways we can continue to improve our process and maintain the highest levels of safety for students are: following the arrival and dismissal traffic patterns, carpooling with neighbors to reduce amount of cars, and keeping name signs in the passenger side car window to help staff efficiently facilitate dismissal. During the week of February 11th, you are invited to meet your child(ren)’s teacher(s) during Parent Teacher Conferences. In order to arrange conference times that best meet the needs of all of our parents, students will be dismissed at 11:45 on Thursday, February 14th and there will be no school on Friday, February 15th. The teachers look forward to meeting with you regarding your child’s learning. In addition, there is no school on Monday, February 18th for Presidents’ Day. At our first set of conferences, parents and teachers established goals for the children. At our second set of conferences many of the students are invited to be part of student-involved conferences. By including the students in the conference they are able to share their learning with parents and receive immediate feedback about their progress. Please look for information from your child’s teacher for specific details. As always, if you need additional information or time to speak with your child’s teacher, please let them know. The support you offer your children and the staff at Park is greatly appreciated. Your thoughts regarding your child’s learning are valued. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. Sincerely, Matt Melamed David Dinsmore

This month our most favorite event of the year
occurs...the Valentine Dinner Dance and Raffle!
We hope you all had the chance to get your tickets to
the hottest event in town on February 8th here at Park
Campus from 6:00pm to 8:30pm! We’ll be dancing to
today’s most popular music, filling our bellies with an
awesome dinner and enjoying the company of our
friends and families! Check out the raffle table for this
event, too! How would you like to get a ride to school in a fire truck?
Have lunch or play Wii with your teacher? What about a new American Girl doll? You won't
want to miss your chance at winning one of these prizes in our raffle either! Psst--we’re looking for help
decorating the school for this event, so please make sure to send in your Valentines soon!
The Scholastic Book Fair will be up and running at the Valentine Dinner Dance, and will continue through parent/
teacher conference week, ending on February 14. Stop in to grab a new book and support your school!
Inspiration Day may seem so far away, but with great planning, this event will have excellent turn out! We could
use some volunteers to help present or manage each class offered. Please contact Aubrey Albert at
[email protected] or see the form in this newsletter for more information. Thank you!
Look for the next Box Tops Contest starting February 11! Vote for your favorite books with Box Tops. Will you
cast your vote for the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series or the 39 Clues series? Younger kids--how about you--will it
be Fly Guy or Splat the Cat? Save those Box Tops and choose your favorite books!
We love our volunteers and our school! Thank you all for everything you
do to help the PTO!
