o  We  are  a  social  movement  of  people  wan;ng  to  change  the  energy  system  and  get  rid  of  Oligopolyà  hundreds  of  volunteers  involved  in  over  50  local  groups  

o  Generate  a  clear  demand  for  renewable  energyà  we  sell  cer6fied  renewable  electricity  to  our  members  

o  Increase  the  produc;on  of  renewable  energyà  we  have  8  photovoltaic  plants  and  1  biogas  plant,  coopera6vely  owned  and  financed

We’re  a  coopera;ve    o  Non-­‐profit  consumer  coopera<ve  o  One  person,  one  vote  o  Board  of  7  people,  no  remunera<on  o  General  Assembly  of  Members  decides  on  ‘big  

issues’  and  chooses  the  Board  o  Board  on  ‘strategy’  &  maintaing  coopera<ve  

spirit  alive  o  Management  team  has  to  execute  efficiently  

make  the  bills,  answer  the  e-­‐mails  &  phones  

o  2013  turnover:  3.5  M€  (small  loss)  o  2014  turnover:  9  M€  (break  even)  o  12  professional  staff  in  small  office  in  Girona  o  16.139  members  o  social  capital  contribu<on:  16.139  members  x  100€  o  18.430  clients  o  Electricity  commercializa<on:  45  GWh

o  3.5  million  addi<onal  investments  by  members  to  finance  projects  at  3  –  5%  interest  

o  1  m€  in  cash  reserve  o  20%  of  members  voluntarily  pay  0.01€/kWh  extra  (=75.000€  for  2014)

o  Civil  disobedience  à  Spain  announced  a  solar  tax  for  the  use  of  PV  panels  for  your  own  instantaneous  consump6on.      

o  PowerShare  à  par6cipate  with  €€€  in  a  new  solar,  wind  or  hydro  produc6on  plant  and  get  a  yearly  kWh  return  (in  stead  of  financial  return)  

o  Power  to  gas  à  produce  Hydrogen  and  inject  in  gas  grid  during  6mes  of  overproduc6on  of  renewable  energy
