LEADERSHIP CHANGE

Dear Friends, With gratitude I share the following news with you. Please share it with others in your congregation. Your Florida Mission Center Leadership Team will be changing over the next few months.

On December 31, Florida Mission Center Financial Officer Jane Watkins will retire. The Florida Mission Center has been greatly blessed by Jane’s rich minis-try and excellent leadership. For seven years, Jane has served as Florida Mis-sion Center financial officer, providing support to congregational financial offic-ers, teaching and preaching throughout the mission center, encouraging disci-ples to generously share their time, talents, and treasure for local and world-wide ministries, and bringing her warm, joyful presence into homes, congrega-tions, camps, reunions, and mission center gatherings. During MissionFest, No-vember 8-9 at Deerhaven, we will celebrate Jane’s service and thank her for her faithful contributions to Christ’s Mission. Please join us as we honor her.

By the end of the year, we plan on Bob Watkins’ return to full-time leadership as single-line administrator, serving as the Florida Mission Center president and financial officer. In this expanded role, Bob will bring excellent guidance and support to congregations and members. We give thanks for Bob’s steady recov-ery from his radical surgery and continue to prayerfully support him in the heal-ing process and as he prepares to resume leadership of the mission center.

We also give heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Jim Slauter who has provided exceptional full-time leadership in the mission center while Bob heals. Begin-ning with this communication, Jim will be serving as a single-line administrator (Florida Mission Center Interim president and financial officer) until Bob’s re-turn.

To support Jim and eventually Bob, Debbie Bartlett has agreed to provide near-ly full-time administrative and bookkeeping support for the Florida Mission Center and Deerhaven Campgrounds, beginning immediately. Her excellent organizational and administrative skills will insure that Jim and Bob successful-ly serve as single-line administrators.

Until her retirement, Jane will share some of her extensive gifts and talents to teach Temple School classes, support some congregations during their fall busi-ness meetings, and provide dynamic preaching.

As we proceed through this transition time, I ask for your prayerful support for the Florida Mission Center Leadership Team. I look forward to seeing you at Mission-Fest. I know God will bless us as we deepen our discipleship and commitment to Live Christ’s Mission. Your sister in Christ, Linda L. Booth, Apostle Southern USA Mission Field
