Course Overview
The King Reports and the Public Finance Management Act have firmly established the necessity for
directors and senior executives in both the public and private sectors to maintain, and to demonstrate
the maintenance of, good corporate governance practices. Furthermore the recently released King 3
makes it even clearer that all levels of management carry some degree of legal and organizational
responsibility, and that corporate governance is not the responsibility of directors and executives alone.
Any manager who is not familiar with the elements required of them by the above is going to struggle
to meet their legal and fiduciary duties to their respective employers. To assist organizations and their
officers to understand what Corporate Governance means and requires, as well as how to go about
implementing good governance in practice, Masegare Business School is offering a training course on
“Corporate Governance”.

delivery output mix that will achieve these objectives and allocate their budgets to these outputs
through measurable objectives. These reforms in turn created the need for other reforms aimed at
monitoring the implementation and execution of the plans and budgets. As a result in-year
management and quarterly performance reporting became obligatory, and reporting on non-financial
service delivery information became obligatory. The latest Government Monitoring and Evaluation

6.1 Our Capacity Building Approach Training Training is defined “as the “planned effort by a company to facilitate employees’ learning of job-
related competencies. These competencies include knowledge, skills, or behavior that are critical for
successful job performance” (Noe et al, 2006:257). In the dynamic business environment of today, a
company’s human resources provide the intellectual capital necessary to enable the firm to
successfully compete within its industry. In order to ensure that the organization’s intellectual capital is
maintained, training is then necessary. We recruit business owners and offer them accredited or non-
