Founded by Ms. Lebogang Zulu on the basis of providing ground-breaking and innovative solutions for black women in construction, Tshitshirisang Construction and Projects (Pty) Ltd is a 100% black women owned civil and construction company that has built a strong reputation for delivering a quality service, on time, and at a competitive price. Ms. Lebogang Zulu, an entrepreneur and founder of Tshitshirisang Construction with over 13 years of experience in the energy, construction and engineering sectors.

Ms. Zulu has held various positions including Executive Director (Shoes Moshoeu Holdings), Business Development Executive (Gaza Energy), Power Station Manager in Training (Eskom Duvha), Energy Trading Manager - Cluster D (Duvha and Majuba), Trading Operations Manager – Eskom Transmission International Trader, and Energy Production Management(Eskom Generation Production & Sales).

Qualifications: Nat. Diploma: MechEng, Generation Leadership Programme, MSc. Construction Management

Entrepreneurship and Leadership: Ms. Zulu has managed to pioneer and steer Tshitshirisang Construction and Shoes Moshoeu Holdings JV towards successful construction of multi-million rand projects.

Her areas of specialties include design and construction, infrastructure development, project management, electricity generation, transmission and distribution processes.

Her key performance areas include; providing leadership and high-level strategic direction as well as policy development; providing overall business management; fostering effective relations will all stakeholders; driving research and development of alternative construction and energy technologies; managing business growth (steering propositions to stakeholder liaison); business performance target setting and evaluation, risk management, finance, investment and procurement management.

Achievements: Ms. Zulu's significant achievement include being selected as a trustee in the BWA / MTN Brains Trust Programme representing the energy and mining sector in South Africa (2002)

Green Building in context; President Jacob Zuma on the signing of the New Growth Path Green Economy Accord (November 2011) stated "A greener but also a more prosperous South Africa is in all our best interests. This Green Economy Accord marks an important step towards that end.

Through it, the main economic cons�tuencies have commi�ed to real contribu�ons to protec�ng our environment, taking advantage of the growth opportuni�es offered by the profound technological changes required to combat climate change and greening our planet, and ensuring that the unavoidable costs are shared fairly across society".

To this end, we have designed and developed the MpumaGreen Energy Efficient Integrated Mixed Income Housing Township Development and partnered with Blue Crane Assets, DRA Infrastructure, WEC Projects, Vukanzi and Herman Bosua & Associates, a combina�on of companies who have extensive knowledge, experience and capacity in their respec�ve fields of exper�se.

Presented as a first of its kind and hosted by Umjindi Municipality, the MpumaGreen Integrated Mixed Income Housing Township Development seeks to innova�vely green the housing sector and create human se�lements that are inclusive, energy efficient, safe, resilient and sustainable while s�mula�ng the economy through industrializa�on, strengthening the agricultural produc�ve capacity and addressing the water, energy and food security nexus.

Features of MpumaGreen Township Development includes;

Ø Construc�on of energy efficient mixed income housing typologies namely fully subsidized units, GAP and affordable housing bands as well as rental stock; Ø 70% of the township's energy requirements powered through renewable energy mix; Municipal waste to energy, Sewer waste to energy, Photovoltaics (roof top solu�on); Ø Solar Street ligh�ng; Ø Construc�on of state of the art Waste Water Treatment Plants; Ø Road infrastructure incorpora�ng polyroads technology, a comprehensive solu�on aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, minimizing the use of virgin aggregate; Ø Large scale fruit farming opera�on with world class processing plant capable of producing 12,000 metric tons of concentrate, pulps, nectars, citrus and non-citrus; Ø Umjindi and Mbombela Bulk Water - construc�on of KwaTekwane dam, Impopoma dam and Bellevue 2 dam

The mul�-disciplinary approach of the MpumaGreen Township development seeks to contribute to the province's radical socio-economic transforma�on agenda while suppor�ng the pillars of the na�onal development plan: innova�on, inclusive economy, infrastructure development, s�mula�ng investment, Industrializa�on and integra�on.

With an overall project value of R10.5billion, MpumaGreen integrated housing project is proposed to yield a green township of 10,000 houses and supported by an economy of just over half a billion per annum post construc�on across the agri-node related facili�es, solar/photovoltaic plants and waste water treatment plants with just over 15,000 sustainable jobs created pre- and post- construc�on.

Driven by Nelson Mandela's vision of crea�ng a be�er life for all and giving senior ci�zens who are currently living in dilapidated housing structures, a chance to a be�er life. Tshitshirisang partnered with the IBT For�s Building System owner AV Light Steel based in Potchefstroom and drew sponsors from companies like, Technopol etc. Through this partnership, energy efficient 45m2 houses were built for two beneficiaries who were iden�fied by the NHBRC and Freestate Department of Human Se�lements;

1st Beneficiary: an 85year old granny who has never owned a decent home in her whole life has now been graced with a home that brings her pride and joy.

2nd Beneficiary: an 80year old granny who lived in an depilated condi�on over 25years, now has a place to call home.
