Mazzali is today one of the most significant and innovative reality of the Italian furniture industry.

Sustainable development, social responsibility, environmental impacts are values and

Mission and values

“Providing furniture solutions, with quality products custom made to the expectations of our

clients, in compliance with fundamental ethical principles and the protection of the

environment" is our commitment.

We believe that the future of the industry cannot irrespective search for a coherent and

constructive harmony with the environment it surrounds. Mazzali, in the social context in which it

operates, invests in initiatives and is committed to:

- Design and develop products more environmentally friendly and environmentally sustainable;

- Require their our suppliers extend a culture of respect for the ethical and environmental

principles;

- We request from our suppliers the guarantee to refuse child labour;

- Reduce the emission of pollutants, such as gas, or waste discharges generated by its production;

- Support projects in the social and environmental benefits through humanitarian organizations

and “non-profit”.

Mission and marketing strategies

In keeping with the values in which we believe since our origins, our corporate mission is the

production of high quality furniture, respecting the environment and mankind. We want to

create products with strong identities and that reflects those who buy them. Products with high

technical quality, custom made and with low environmental impact.

Environmental Philosophy

We believe that the future of the industry is closely linked to the search for a coherent and

constructive harmony with the environment that surrounds us.

Our global commitment begins from the production to our suppliers. In this' optical we commit

ourselves to a product providing a low environmental impact. Moreover, the whole production

takes place in Italy, without relocating of any production process, especially painting, in countries

where regulations are less attentive to the protection of labour and the environment.

Sustainable Vision

Sustainable development, social responsibility, environmental impacts are values and

commitments that characterize the entire production Mazzali: using wood reforestation program,

low-emission paint solvent, improved environmental technologies, continuous research materials

and solutions to reduce the impact and ensure sustainability at the production process, maximum

attention to the health of consumer

CSR in Mazzali was born and developed as a strategic choice of marketing. Born from a path that

initially focused its attention on the paradigm of sustainable development and then grow up to

embrace a broader project that involves the company as a whole. Born with a governance strongly

oriented to a sustainable vision and with a direct approach and wanted to corporate citizenship.

Some milestones summarize the path of CSR played in years:

1998, Mazzali launches "Green Island", the green brand that gathered a collection of products

with low environmental impact

2000, Mazzali develops a water painting technology absolutely innovative, reducing by 75%

emissions of solvent;

2001, sustainable development and low environmental impact are levers of strategic marketing

and are incorporated in the company mission

2007, Mazzali launchs finishing "100% water”. "100% water features, environmental optics, for its

low solvent emissions with a reduction of over 90% compared to traditional finishes.

2011, Mazzali presents FREE, the first cabinet that combines zero emissions with excellent quality.

FREE is 100% honeycomb sandwich panel with solid wood, painted with Antibacterial Silver Ions

and certified EN 71.3 for the Safety of Toys and Children's Health.

Sustainable production

Social responsibility in Mazzali is now increasingly a strategic vision and a cultural approach to

business

But social responsibility and sustainability are and were, also and above all, the fundamental

drivers of growth and differentiation. They have impacted on intangible assets such as promotion

and development of the company, have allowed a strong differentiation compared to competitors,

generating an important competitive advantage, have launched a significant growth in volumes,

were a major vehicle for improvement and growth in relations with the community, have enabled

the company to acquire expertise and improve its offer thanks to a continuous and constructive

confrontation with stakeholders

The choice of sustainable production has had significant impacts on the supply and placement of

Mazzali. Since 1998, when Mazzali launched "Green Island", the green brand that gathered a

collection of products with low environmental impact., the sales volume of this line have grown

so that they then changed the way of being industry. Of them Mazzali supply becomes increasingly

rich and articulate up to embrace a broader project that involves the company as a whole, with a

governance strongly oriented to a sustainable vision of the company and with a direct approach

and wanted to corporate citizenship .

From this point of view, the company research has increasingly focused, in collaboration with

stakeholders, towards products that have a reduced environmental impact.

Three guidelines: production unit, product, painting

Production unit:

- We have made significant investments for reducing “volatile solvent emission” during the

process of painting (overspray. ..) through the combined use of “water curtains spraying booth”

and air intake pipelines.

- The water, after the process of painting, is collected in special tanks and entrusted, for its

disposal, a specialized company. The air pipelines have special suction filters killing.

- We have implemented an ongoing research project to reduce the amount of paint sprayed on

every single piece (subject to the requirements of durability, resistance, aesthetic) with the aim of

reducing the amount of volatile solvent emission.

- We have implemented a plan for the waste processing: wood, special materials, paper … . All our

production waste are recycled or disposed of, without harming the environment.

- We have reduced noise pollution through substitutions and changes of the fixtures and fittings.

The product:

The wood is our main raw material, our effort is to ensure its availability for the future generations

and for ourselves.

In addition, we have put a ban on material labeled as toxic or harmful to health and to reduce the

use of glues containing formaldehyde. With this in mind:

- In the wardrobes we use 95% wood reforestation program and 5% wood from areas whose

governments have signed a commitment to reforestations.

- In the beds we use only wood reforestation program.

- The glues used in the structure of wardrobes are 50% water based glues and 50% glues urea

based in class E1 with low formaldehyde emission.

- The choice of building the doors, structure and shelves in sandwich compound with honeycomb

and solid wood, reduced by 98%, compared to a doors in chipboard, the use of synthetic glues

containing formaldehyde.

- For the realization of the honeycomb we use recycled cardboard and the glue is made with

vegetable-based

The painting:

One of the most serious forms of air pollution are volatile solvent emission, both outdoor and

indoor, that are generated in the process of painting. If these solvents contain, among other

things, toxic substances, can create irreversible environmental damage and serious damage to

health of the person.

With this in mind:

- We have banned any kind of paint that contains labeled toxic substances, particularly lead,

asbestos, formaldehyde.

- We realized water based finishes, using methods that combined water + UV + acrylic paint, and

open pore essence that reduce by 75% the emission of solvents compared to the traditional

lacquered.

- The internal parts of wardrobes are painted only with UV paint (98% reduction of volatile solvent

emission compared to the traditional lacquered.

- We have worked out the finish "100% Water" that boasts the LIFE brand, the EU’s instrument

supporting environmental and nature conservation projects, and certifications UNI EN 71-3 in the

paint and to the safety of toys and 97/48/EC as paint suitable contact food for an absolute

guarantee of protection of consumer health and the environment.

All the products can be personalized on the measures and color. Mazzali provides a complete

personalization of each wardrobe and bookshelf, as regards measurements, compositions,

solutions. A product that is tailor-made to every need of space and modularity.

A choice of high quality

100% WOOD … EMOTION AND BEAUTY, DURATION AND VALUE.

The pleasure to touch, see, and feel that only wood can offer. Wood is nature, value and

durability. Wood has many capabilities: it absorbs and releases moisture, has acoustic and thermal

insulation, it does not conduct electromagnetic waves, it has a very high durability, it is recyclable

or re-usable.

Wood is the only material that man can produce ecologically through replanting. Wood,

furthermore, continues to live and breathe, even when cut, improving the quality of home life.

For this Mazzali uses real wood veneer, honeycomb sandwich panels with solid wood frame,

plywood and blockborad.

100% HONEYCOMB SANDWICH PANEL WITH SOLID WOOD FRAME.

The doors, slides and shelves of the wardrobes and bookcases are made exclusively in honeycomb

sandwich panel with solid wood frame. Thanks to the perimeter structure of solid wood with

honeycomb, the veneer guarantees maximum lightness thus causing less stress on mechanisms

and on the hinges, maximum duration and maximum resistance, as screws and joints work directly

on the solid wood.

100% PLYWOOD … STRENGTH, DUBILITY, FLEXIBILITY AND NEUTRALITY.

The beds, sets and wardrobe cabins are made in plywood and multilayer. The plywood and

multilayer are composed of multiple overlapping sheets or strips of wood fiber cross.

The materials are excellent for their resistance, durability, breathability, hygroscopicity and

neutrality in magnetic fields.

To ensure maximum stability in wood veneer essence, plywood and multilayer may be counter-

plated with a thin sheet of MDF.

Colour is the expression of our emotions, our passions, our being, our outcome.

Mazzali offers a choice of 124 standard colours, in seven different finishes, from water colours to

lacquered, tactile oak, antique, to decapè, because above all, each product must be personalized

to the best and most personal requirements.

1962: In a small laboratory in Ugozzolo, near Parma, from an idea of two young carpenter who

see, in the production of wardrobes, a growing market, Mazzali moves his first steps.

During 1964, the company moved its factory at Chiozzola that for nearly 30 years will be theatre

its evolution.

Meanwhile Mazzali grows. The market is now strictly domestic, but already there is the first sales

agent.

1969 marked an important moment, the company exhibited their wardrobes at the “Campionaria

Fair” at Milan; its market is nationally.

The following years show the gradual expansion that crosses all 70 and 80 years. The company

consolidates her market position and market share. Mazzali patents designs and innovative

solutions for wardrobes.

1985: The research process meanwhile led to the birth of "Décapé", a natural finish, perfected by

Mazzali, to enhance and to colour the wood.

In 1992 was inaugurated the new factory which is in the vanguard of compliance with the

environmental standards, with increasing investment in environmental protection.

1998: Mazzali presents "Green Island" a collection of natural products with a low environmental

impact.

2000: Mazzali develops a water painting technology absolutely innovative.

This technology gives the company leadership as "environmentally friendly".

2003: The inauguration of the new showroom: 1500 metres of space to present any collection.

Mazzali wins Premium "Excellent Enterprise 2003”

2004: Mazzali presents "Zerosettantacinque" project: 0.75% sales volume are intended to

initiatives for environmental protection and social activity.

initiative of corporate social responsibility.

2007: Mazzali wins the special award "Champions of Responsibility” at Sodalitas Social Award.

Mazzali presents the new finishing "100% water”; “100% water” has the LIFE mark for Sustainable

Development and is eligible for food and toys.

2009: Mazzali company is nominated for the first E-I Corporate Responsibility Award and

joins Sodalitas Foundation.
