Accessible design is good design: it is functional, understandable, usable and beautiful. It is a user-centered approach that benefits everyone, including people with disabilities. Design has a powerful role to play in society by creating accessible spaces, and at TRANSIT, we are committed to making our design as inclusive as possible. We always strive to ensure that our work can be accessed, understood and used to the greatest extent possible by all people, regardless of their age, size, social background, ability or disability.

Nothing is more valuable than word of mouth, and nothing shapes the words that people utter more than what they see, hear, read and interact with on social media. At TRANSIT, we create written and visual content that is engaging, memorable and worth a million billboards. Our team of strategists, writers, designers and video makers are true believers in the ability to mold ideas and shape mindsets. WebsitesWithout a digital presence, organizations don’t exist. Websites are the first thing that people check when wanting to learn more about any new project, business or institution. Websites can also provide a wide range of functionalities, ranging from e-commerce to online bookings and reservations.

Unlike most agencies, we both design and develop websites, making sure that we see out the entire process, from beginning to end. This allows our clients the ability to deploy modern, user focused, easy to use websites through a hassle free and strategically driven process.

Mobile AppsOur expertise in UX and mobile technology enables us to build native and cross platform mobile apps for Android and iOS that leverage all the potential of these operating systems. After we create detailed wireframes, we partner up with mobile development experts to build customized or enterprise level mobile apps, web apps, and bespoke APIs. We make sure that all apps are designed according to latest UX thinking and are deployed in a secure and scalable manner.

Our Digital ProcessPHASE 1 Content Mapping

We curate, organize, and digitally optimize any existing content. We also identify content gaps and write any missing copy in order to develop an information hierarchy that reflects communication goals and yields the most effective SEO results.

PHASE 2 Design & Development

We design a live iteration of the website in accordance with latest standards for accessibility, usability, SEO and mobile responsiveness. We don’t design flat non-functional mockups. By the end of this phase, clients have a functional website that they can build their digital presence on.

PHASE 3 User Testing

We enable key stakeholders to test the usability of the site in a staging environment prior to launch, in order to ensure optimal performance.

PHASE 4 Deployment

We publish the website to a live hosting environment, optimize the site to ensure fast loading times, customize link preview images and excerpts for social media posts, and submit a complete sitemap to all major search engines for indexing.

PHASE 5 Maintenance

An inactive website is as bad as not having a website at all. We regularly retain clients for long term engagements to create and upload all written and multimedia content, ensure that the latest version of the website is updated and guarantee no down time.

The task was to create a brand identity that differentiated this up and coming AV company from the rest of the pack. We worked with a team of talented engineers, digital storytellers and sight and sound gurus to create a comprehensive brand platform, driven by the big idea - “Not to be missed.” We designed and developed everything from the brand identity, to the company profile and even the company website to give them all the tools they need to make magic.

FIND YOUR FLAVORWith the advent of global food delivery apps in the region, we were approached by a group of tech investors that wanted to design a brand identity and app that would make them stand out from the competition. We first identified their competitive advantage: to deliver food from outlets that don’t traditionally make their food available through delivery apps. Secondly, we created a brand identity that was rooted in local culture, but with a modern twist. Foodna means our food in Arabeezy (a mix of Arabic & English), and the brandmark transformed the Arabic letter ف into an emoji. Finally, we designed the delivery app itself to deliver an end to end solution that helped the ambitious team bring their vision to life.

We worked with Chargello, a global company that provides phone battery chargers to venues, to create a splash at the 2018 Qatar International Food Festival.

By designing a clever set of iconic imagery that portrayed Chargello’s status as QIFF’s official charging partner, we created a fun and cheeky way to convince festival participants to stay longer and eat more.

Through a variety of brand collateral, including charger covers, event signage, flyers and social media content, we created a dynamic presence for the global brand at Qatar’s premier culinary festival. Our team also managed all PR activities related to the campaign, which included the writing and distribution of press releases in Arabic & English to local media.

When Qatar’s leading business incubation center approached us to create a brochure that they can use at events to both engage people and capture information, our design team set out to create something innovative and fun. We created a unique publication that made use of original pop art style illustrations deployed in an open gate fold design with a perforated edge system that audiences could fill out, cut out and leave behind.

For brick and mortar establishments, taking their business online is a cumbersome effort that requires managing multiple vendors, including designers and developers and drivers to name a few. Enter Royatec (Arabic for “Your Vision”), a start up that aims to offer a One Stop Shop for existing businesses to sell directly to customers through a customized, fully integrated, mobile app. Knowing that they needed a fresh, energetic and on trend brand identity, the Royatec team reached out to us for help. After creating a typographic brandmark, we developed a series of bilingual publications and graphics to explain their innovative process to potential customers in the region.

When the Soufi family told us about their plans to open a Syrian street food restaurant in the heart of trendy Toronto, we knew that we needed to create a brand that could act as a cultural emissary.

We wanted to educate Canadians about the rich culture behind Mana’eesh and Knaffeh in a playful, hip and accessible way.

Named after this young family of recent immigrants, Soufi’s aimed to become a culinary hotspot in the heart of the city with their signature style of authentic food and home style hospitality and, we created the perfect brand to meet their needs.

We created the wall and print menus, cups, napkins, uniforms, and signage in a way that created an educational, lively and colorful brand experience for everyone to enjoy.

A signature coupled with a world of handmade illustrations gave the Soufi’s team all the brand assets they need to communicate the rich culture of their food to new audiences.

When we created the identity for Angola based supermarket chain Intermarket, we were inspired by the locally iconic baobab tree as a symbol of life, community and nourishment. The retailer was positioning itself to be best in fresh, boasting a world class butchery and a selection of international products that was unmatched in the country.

We also knew that for a supermarket that would be creating a lot of applications, they needed a dynamic brand that could grow, evolve, change shapes and colors and adapt to different seasonal campaigns — just like a tree in real life — and that’s exactly what we did. By applying the brand everywhere from product displays to signage, billboards, packaging, external wayfinding, social media content, their new website, and more, the result is a seamless and beautiful retail experience that celebrates the people of Angola.

World Cup Campaign

To get fans excited for the 2018 World Cup, we created a fictional football team: Intermarket FC. We used the new team’s badge and colors to transform the shelves into a football fan’s dream - filled with carefully chosen snacks and other goodies, all in time for the big game.

Cabaz de Natal 2018

Every year, Angola celebrates the festive season by gifting bounties of food, including fresh fruits and gourmet chocolates. We created a 360° campaign to promote these gift baskets through print, digital and in-store applications.

1st Year Anniversary

We created an outdoor, in-store and digital campaign to celebrate one year of freshness. The campaign creative focused on the brand promise, “best in fresh,” by highlighting the joy fresh food brings to the people’s lives.

Starting out as a boutique roaster in the heart of Toronto, Canada, Hale’s passion for coffee, along with their technical know-how, helped them emerge as one of the hottest roasters in the city. That’s why when they approached us to rebrand their company and design their flagship store, we created an impactful visual language that reflected both the art and the science of coffee roasting.

We created a geometrical frame to represent technical precision and then filled it with a handwritten “Hale,” to reflect the artistry behind their signature blends. We saw the square as a dynamic canvas that can be filled with type and imagery that reflect the spirit of Hale, and so that no one will ever get bored of the brand.

We also carried out a photoshoot of their surroundings, creating iconic images that evoke the spirit of their neighborhood, putting the spirit of the streets right into the hands of their audiences on every cup and on every bag of coffee served.

Inspired by Doha’s heritage as a port city, we came up with “Fly Karak,” an airline themed offering, where every part of the experience would look, feel and sound like an airline check-in counter. Soon to be launched in Doha, Fly Karak will add a playful element to a time-old tradition.

We created an original concept and identity for a group of young foodies who wanted to open up a tea and juice shop. Having come from different parts of the world, they found a common ground in Karak, a local interpretation of an Indian tea drink, loved by everyone, everywhere.

To help them differentiate themselves from the competition in what is a congested space, we wanted to create a memorable experience for visitors to their stand, one that would capture the imagination of travelers while keeping true to the roots of Karak.

Now available at Sephora and Galeries Lafayette, Beauty Essentials provides customers with a wide range of affordable must-have beauty tools that eliminate all the fuss from the arduous tasks of hair, make up and skincare. From brand strategy to packaging design, we worked with this British cosmetics line every step of the way to bring their concept to market. We worked closely with the product team to create a color coded, high impact, iconic and easy to understand brand language that would pop out in congested retail spaces. We wrote the copy for each of the product descriptions, designed how-to infographics, and managed the production of all the packages.

For millions of people heading out to work at the beginning of the work week in Toronto, Mondays are dreaded. They are marked by a procession of tired, lazy, and cold masses, walking to work like lifeless zombies. Saving Mondays is a bakery that aims to bring joy to the painful return to work through hot, freshly baked goods. We worked with this young group of foodies and chefs to come up with a brand identity that was not like any other bakery brand; that was anti-cupcake-shop in every way possible. A graffiti inspired logo and a set of hand drawn icons were the tools needed for the edgy bakery to take the city by storm.

Everyone in Angola knows the Kingstar brand for being the best rice and tuna around. That’s why, when we were approached by the producers to redesign their packaging, we were careful to maintain the iconic elements of the current design to ensure that it will still be recognized on the shelf as the brand everyone loves. Subtle tweaks in the logo, a playful splash of color, and a high-impact visual language takes this eye-catching brand into the modern age. Canned tuna has never looked so good.

For almost seventy years, this family-run retailer has been selling the finest pieces of woven art to collectors from around the world. Inspired by the legacy of their success, we wanted to create a communications tool that would educate younger audiences about the history of woven art while discussing emerging trends in the space at the same time.

Seeking to shift the brand from a carpet seller to a House of Woven Art, we embarked on a project to create a publication that would disrupt the genre of uninspiring overly-academic carpet books, and to instead produce something art-driven, hip and engaging. To do that, we put together a team of researchers, writers, translators, photographers, artists and designers to create a striking bilingual publication that would educate readers about the beauty and history of carpets in a dynamic and imaginative way. Once published, the book will be a collector’s item that will make their name synonymous with the greatest carpet houses in the world.

BOOK COVER DESIGN

The publication we created for Samovar traces the history of woven art, from the beginning to contemporary practices that are shattering traditional norms. To reflect this theme on the cover, we worked with talented Islamic pattern artist Aziza Iqbal to create a custom made design that spans both sides of the book. On one side, the design starts with the basic shapes and patterns found in many traditional carpets and then evolves into a state of complete fragmentation, as if telling the entire story of the book in one masterful creation.
