Successful companies are driven to deliver quality - from the way they operate, to the customer service
standards they establish and the products they deliver. This is a strategic vision for continuous change
to improve brand equity and image and ensure you are better equipped to win new opportunities in an
increasingly competitive global marketplace.
WELD-CON embraces this quality standard and has attained certifications as below:
www.weld-con.com
Operational Divisions
Oil and Gas
Weld-Con is an established and well recognized organization
amongst the upstream Oil & Gas companies operating the
region, each of whose professional approval has enabled us to
remain a leading company within the sector.
Kenya is emerging as a crude oil exporter Weld-Con is involved
in the specialized fabrication of complex structural members and
small tanks for the oil fields for clients such as Schlumberger and
Halliburton.
Power Stations
Weld-Con has gained vast experience in the field of power sta-
tion installations ranging from large diesel and HFO engines,
steam and gas turbines setup and geothermal power stations.
Weld-Con’s experience, infrastructure and capacity have grown
enabling us to take on sizeable projects of this kind, thus feeding
the growing demand for energy in these economies, which strive
for economic growth and industrial modernization.
Bulk Liquid Storage Facilities
Weld-Con’s growing experience in this sector is visible through
the construction of over 200 bulk liquid storage tanks throughout
East and Central Africa. The largest tank that we have con-
structed to date is for Vivo Energy (A subsidiary of Shell) and
measures 42m in diameter and 18m height. This tank was then
fitted with an Aluminium geodesic dome roof by us.
With a large fleet of heavy duty cranes and one of the very few
companies owning hydraulic tank jacking equipment, no tank is
too big for us. We are able to construct large storage facilities in
extremely remote areas and dare to go to where others would
not. www.weld-con.com
Hydro-Electric Facilities
As the global shift towards renewable energy takes its course,
Weld-Con has evolved to learn about these new technologies
and grown to support the emergence of sustainable sources of
energy.
With investments in large cranes, multiple plate rolling facilities
and robotic FCAW welding machines, we have all the equipment
required to construct steel penstock tubes of any size. In 2014
Weld-Con was awarded the construction of a 2.4Km long pen-
stock line of 3.5m diameter for the 33MW Nzoro Power station in
DRC. In addition to this Weld-Con was awarded the full site
installation of this Penstock Line.
In-Plant and Cross Country Piping
From the inception of Weld-Con in 1986, piping has always been
a key division in our organization. Our skilled team of pipe layers
and welders have been involved in large piping projects in power
stations, fuel Oil depots/refineries and off shore piping. Having
done these types of projects for over 25 years, Weld-Con
realizes the importance of safety and having a minimal impact on
the rural areas and local communities.
Over the years we have gained the reputation as specialists in
EPC of Airport fuel hydrant systems. Weld-Con has executed
successfully both aircraft fuel hydrant systems for Jomo Kenyat-
ta International Airport Nairobi and Julius Nyerere Interna-
tional Airport Dar es Salaam. Weld-Con was also involved in
the commissioning of both systems.
Tank Maintenance and Repair
Over the years we have become specialists in the construction of
new tanks, and have overhauled and repaired just as many older
tanks as per API 653 Tank repair code. We have our own in-
house API 653 tank inspector coupled with all the tank inspection
equipment enabling us to study the integrity and corrosion levels
of an existing tank and carry out the necessary repair work.
Safety, Health and Environment
Health, Safety and Environment aware-
ness is major priority for us. The Company
has thus developed the HSE Policy, HSE
Action Plan and Employer/Employee
Safety Charter as instruments of manag-
ing Health, Safety and Environmental Pro-
tection throughout the whole Organization.
The company employs a full time Safety
Advisor and each site is manned by a
dedicated Safety Officer. Daily “Toolbox
Talks” and Safety Meetings are regularly
conducted at all our worksites, and inter-
nal Safety Audits carried out to ensure
compliance with laid down procedures and
regulations.
We take pride in recognitions by our vari-
ous clients from whom we have received
awards for outstanding safety perfor-
mance. We have also been prompt in
implementing lessons learnt from inci-
dents we encountered to prevent
recurrence.
Quality Assurance
Our Quality Control / Assurance Department ensures that all works are carried out to the
highest standards and meet all requirements of the specified Codes of Construction and the
Client’s quality requirements.
