FIREMNÍ PROFILTHE DELIVERIES OF PRODUCTS FOR RAILWAY AND TRAM LINES ARE OUR MAIN PROGRAM
ŽPSV a.s. is a joint-stock company based in Uherský Ostroh with more than sixty-year tradition in the market of construction products, materials and services acting in the Czech Republic and through the mediation of its subsidiary companies also in Slovakia and Bulgaria. ZPSV is a traditional and successful supplier of concrete products for construction industry primarily focused on transport constructions (both railway and road), significant part of its production is however aimed at ground constructions, engineering constructions, residential structures, environmental structures and other fields of the industry. In the course time, the assortment of the company was significantly broadened.
The original enterprise was founded in 1952 in Prague as a „Podnik pro lomy a štěrkovny“ (Enterprise for quarries and gravel-pits), with its relevant initial roles pursuant to the name. ZPSV entered upon for a way among the largest producers of concrete precast elements in the Czech Republic in 1955 when the first reinforced concrete railway sleepers were produced which constitute principal backbone of its activity for the duration of the company´s history. Renewal and modernisation of the track of the then Czechoslovakia created a favourable environment for marketing of the company´s products and this enabled consequent substantial expansion.
The most important years of the modern history were the years 1992 when a private joint-stock company was established and 2003 when a new foreign strategical partner – Spannish Obrascón Huarte Lain SA group - entered the company.
Whilst the year of 1992 meant the change in the approach of the new private owners to the company, the year 2003 meant the next significant movement – getting involved into an important global group, with broad scope of activities, with huge capital power and generally with strong resources of synergy potentially used within the group and within common acquisition of new markets.
In the present time the organizational structure of the company consists of five production plants and one workshop in Czech Republic, one production plant in Slovak Republic and two production plants in Bulgaria.

FOREIGN PARTICIPATION
DELIVERIES OF SWITCH SLEEPERS IN CZECH REPUBLIC AND ABROAD
DOLOPLAzY PLANT
The principal productional programme of the plant is manufacturing of B91S railway sleepers made of prestressed concrete equipped with Vossloh or Pandrol rail fastening and manufacturing of prestressed concrete VPS turnout sleepers for customers DT Prostejov, voestalpine VAE-Sofia and Vossloh Cogifer.
The other assortment consists of broad range of precast elements determined for railway constructions – platform systems, drainage elements, wire channels, channel covers, track marking elements. Part of the products is manufactured by means of vibro-pressing on Schlosser production line – it is about different types of pavement blocks, curbs, drainage blocks and others. During last years, important part of the assortment consists of precast panels for loggias including concrete handrail produced in many variations. It also broadened the range of the production of anti-noise barriers.
UHERSký OSTROH PLANT
Uherský Ostroh is the second plant using technology for manufacturing of railway sleepers. Besides the basic type B91S, which is used for mainlines, there is also production of B03 sleepers used in second class tracks and with modification for municipal tramway tracks. The programme for railway applications is added by manufacturing of twin-block sleepers for Rheda 2000 slab track system and by manufacturing of panels for PORR slab track system. The other manufacture is drainage channels, retaining wall units, road panels, road crash barrier units and many other made-to-order precast elements. Also this plant is producer of panels for loggias and largely anti-noise panels.
DELIVERIES OF SLAB TRACK SYSTEM
NOVé HRADY PLANT
In this plant, the production of railway sleepers was resumed. The plant concentrates on manufacturing of resting products. These are shaft units, pipe culverts, drainage blocks, concrete masonry units, self shuttering blocks, railway platforms, loggia panels and the prefabricates for building constructions for Czech and Austrian market. It is also able to manufacture and supply noise barriers.
ČERČANY PLANT
After 2001, the production of ZPSV was more diversified and expanded towards to made-to-order products – manufacturing of frame structure elements and precast concrete cladding of hall structures, commercial buildings, residential houses and amusement parks. Čerčany is one of the plants which is equipped and specialized for this kind of production. The equipment is quite modern. For the above mentioned structures, Čerčany plant produces complete assortment of precast units (columns, roof trusses, purlins, girders, beams, cladding, sandwich elements, filigreed floor slabs and other units necessary for construction of such structures). The plant also supplies spatial units (cells for tranformer station), serial production of units for road and railway weighing machines and antinoise panels. Besides this assortment, the plant maintains the production of components for the construction of railways such as platforms, crossing panels Brens, etc.
LITICE NAD ORLICÍ PLANT
This plant was not part of former structure of ZPSV and was purchased in 2001. Constituent part of the plant is a quarry (the rock is a Litice granite) producing crushed aggregate for both ZPSV plants and external customers. The main part of the plant is however production hall. This plant has long tradition in manufacture of prestressed concrete and regarding this Litice was a pioneer within Czech Republic. As regards the production programme, it is again oriented towards made to order production (mainly frame structures), significant complement is created by prestressed structures (both pre- and post- tensioned) which are applied to bridge constructions and large-span roof trusses. ZPSV not only produces but also assembles the above mentioned constructions, it established an assembly crew which is organizationally included in the plant Litice. The plant manufactures a full range of frame culverts, elements of the rail platforms, and also noise barriers.
FIREMNÍ PROFILBROADENING OF SERVICES - DELIVERIES AND INSTALLATION OF PREFABRICATED CONSTRUCTIONS
BěSTOVICE wORkSHOP
This workshop is, with regard to its size and production programme, subordinated to Litice plant. The tradition of this workshop is based on manufacture of vibro-pressed products for railway and road constructions (drainage blocks, platform units) and on manufacture of minute products for railway marking, today with often use of SCC technology. The overall assortment is however much broader and includes variety of precast units (cable channels, drainage elements, grass panels, etc). With regard to its location and performance of local competitors the production and sales of fresh concrete is of great importance for the workshop.
HEADqUARTERS
Production activities of the above mentioned plants are controlled and inspected from company´s headquarters (HQ) based in Uherský Ostroh. HQ also supports the plants by means of expert services (technical office, design services, economical and accounting services, health and safety, environmental services, IT, law services, accredited testing laboratory etc.). HQ is a creator of fundamental strategy, deals with state authorities, inspection bodies and is responsible for overall operation of the company in the legal frame.
HQ also arranges for participation in various expert associations, in cooperated and own research and development projects, grants, cooperation with universities, research institutes, design enterprises, SŽDC and many other expert organizations.
ŽPSV a.s. is a strong company and among those leading its field of industry in the Czech Republic. The company is searching for additional employment on other European and global markets. The company is focusing on the supply of precast units to neighboring states such as Austria, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Norway and Turkey.

FOREIGN OwNERSHIP INTERESTS
ZPSV a.s. company is a majority stockholder in two foreign subsidiary companies.
ŽPSV ČAňA A.S.
This company produces and supplies similar products compared to its parent company ŽPSV a.s., obviously within the region of Slovakia. The only specific is production of broad gauge sleepers. The plant is located about 20 km from Kosice.
ŽPSV VARNA LTD.
The plant was built in 1999-2000. The main production programme is the manufacture of prestressed turnout sleepers and products for railways and elements like platforms, channels and crossing panels.
In the meantime, other products were introduced (ZPSV a.s. assortment) and we try currently to persuade designers, contractors and investors of suitability of the products to Bulgarian construction projects.We feel confident that the company has a bright future ahead with regard to overall neglecting of the local transport infrastructure. In Bulgaria, our company has two production plants - in Varna and in Parvomay.

INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ŽPSV a.s. has established and certified the integrated management system in compliance with the require-ments of ČSN EN ISO 9001:2009, ČSN EN ISO 14001:2005 and ČSN OHSAS 18001:2008. The certification body is Stavcert Praha.
PRODUCT CERTIFICATION
The product certification follows the applicable legislation of the country where the products are delivered. When assessing the conformity of products there are used requirements of national and European standards and it is proceeded in accordance with European directives for the building construction and railway construction (interoperability). The cooperating body is particularly TZÚS Praha, Authorized Person no. 204 and the Notified body no. 1020.
APPROVAL OF PRODUCTS
Supplies of products for the administrator of backbone road and rail infrastructure (ŘSD, SŽDC) are on the basis of their approval and compliance with applicable regulations. Within this process, the company is under regular supervision by the audit institutions as for example, the supervision of plant laboratories by ASPK Brno, the inspection of factories by TZÚS Praha or the supervision and control by the Technical Centre of Infrastructure, the monitoring organization SŽDC.
TESTING
The company operates and uses services of its own Accredited Testing Laboratory no. 1041 accredited according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025. In the interests of objective and impartial assessment of quality, this testing laboratory has accredited a series of tests of raw materials, fresh and hardened concrete, concrete steel and tests of sleepers.
