Managing Director
Jo Tipa was appointed Managing Director of NSAN inDecember 2017.
Jo has been a key figure on the skills for nuclear agenda forover a decade. In 2007, Jo led the writing of the businessplan that was submitted and approved by government toestablish NSAN.
“NSAN has a deserved reputation as the go to place forsupport in skills for the nuclear industry across the UK.The NSAN team are extremely knowledgeable and areuniquely positioned to support companies in making cost-effective decisions around skills. Through our strongbusiness values and customer focussed delivery, we willcontinue to meet the demands of the industry and thehigh expectations of our members.”
Honorary President
Dr Dame Sue Ion was appointed the Honorary Presidentof NSAN in November 2016.
Dame Sue represents the UK on a number of internationalreview and oversight committees for the nuclear sectorincluding the Euratom Science and Technology Committee,which she Chairs, and the US Department of EnergyNuclear Energy Advisory Committee.
Sue has been involved in energy matters generally since2004 and chaired the steering group which oversaw theResearch Councils’ International Review of Energy Research2010-2011. She is the Royal Academy of Engineering’srepresentative on the UK Government’s Energy ResearchPartnership. She was awarded an OBE in 2002 for servicesto the nuclear industry and a DBE in the 2010 New YearsHonours for services to Science and Engineering.
