COMPANY OVERVIEW Canadian International Academic Services Inc. (CIAS) was initiated to bring Globalization
of Education. It had started a pioneering effort to ensure that aspiring students across the world
have access to quality education from the North American universities and colleges. It helps
students realize the dream of studying in the best universities of USA, Canada, UK and Europe.
CIAS was established with a mission to bring world-class education closer to students coming
from developing countries. In its endeavor to promote education, CIAS worked towards
bringing international education to the doorstep of the students.
The thrust of CIAS is mainly directed for qualified students in the developing and third world
nations to pursue higher education in the fields of Arts, Humanities, Sciences and Technology in
North American and other European colleges and universities, which have the best educational
facilities and infrastructure.
CIAS provides various services such as student counseling, assistance in document processing,
applying to institutions, following-up for admission, employment services, and visa applications.
CIAS is committed to promote international education by following professional and ethical
standards.
Knowledge has been proven to be powerful enough to bind nations together. Exposure to
international communities exposes students to their customs, traditions, history and culture that
leads to mutual respect, admiration and ensures peaceful co-existence. As the old adage goes,
pen is mightier than sword- it is very much true, as transfer and sharing of knowledge has
brought a refreshing change in the attitude of people of all the countries. In the coming years, we
believe that international education will be the best way to inculcate global citizen values in
every human being.

MANAGEMENT
Ms. Gursharan Kaur Kandra, a renowned social worker, established CIAS in the year 2003 and
actively involved herself in International student recruitment. CIAS took the bold step of
introducing North American education to aspiring students in
India. Now, our goal has been to promote Canadian
educational institutions in India, Middle East, UK and USA
and facilitate hopeful students in achieving their goals of
quality education.
President Ms. Gursharan Kaur Kandra, who is an eminent
social worker, education consultant, manages the company.
Ms. Kandra is an International Director for the Indian Red
Cross Society, has traveled extensively all over Europe
conducting seminars, organized workshops with foreign
delegates and was appreciated for her volunteer work in the
Canadian Red Cross Society. She received an award as an NRI
from the Government of India for her active involvement in various social development
activities and projects, and was chosen as the best Counselor from South Asian Women’s
Center in Canada. She has a very good rapport with the non-profit organizations, colleges and
universities, and connections with various employment agencies in Canada.
MARKETING
We have a highly professional marketing strategy and are promoting our services through
various channels as follows: 1. Our website www.ciascanada.com. 2. Distribution of flyers. 3. CIAS advertises in electronic media, local newspapers like Punjabi Daily, Hindi Abroad
and Gujarati Abroad, local media (Ankhila Punjab), Sur Sagar TV Channel (Toronto) and we advertise in two popular directories of Canada like East/West Directory and Kesri Pages Directory.
4. CIAS organizes seminars and education workshops to promote Canadian education in various provinces of India.

In the past five years, we have successfully got admission to more than 500 students in the
community colleges in Canada. In 2009, around 100 students got successfully admitted to
Humber College through us and we are also present on their College web portal. CIAS is
not only a recruitment agency, but it also provides settlement services to international students
with the help of Canadian Intercultural Association of Students (CIAOS) a non-profit
organization, inclusive of post-landing services, job placements, business placements, and
arrangement of co-op placements. We not only recruit students but we are also working on
facilitating joint ventures. We also assist students in filling all kinds of forms i.e. extension of
study permit, extension of work permit, extension of visa, multiple entry visa forms etc. We are
the active members of Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce, APIEC and WEBA, NAFSA, ICEF
and EAIE.
CIAS has partnered with some well renowned educational consultants in India, UAE and UK
and has been instrumental in providing settlement services to international students in Canada.
SCHOLARSHIPS & BURSARIES
CIAS makes financial help available through arrangement of scholarships and bursaries. We
also award two scholarships of CDN$ 1000 each to international students every year.
