to compare two or more things.

Generally, comparatives are formed using -er and

superlatives are formed using -est.

Comparatives are used to compare two things. Youcan use sentences with “than”,

Adjective form Comparative Superlative

Con una sola sílaba que termina en E. Examples: wide, fine, cute

Se agrega al final del adjetivo-r: wider, finer, cuter

Se agrega al final del adjetivo-st: widest, finest, cutest

Solo una silaba con una vocal y una consonante al final. Examples: hot, big, fat

Se dobla la consonante del final y se agrega-er: hotter, bigger, fatter

Dobla la consonante, y agrega -est:hottest, biggest, fattest

Dos silaba que terminan en Y. Examples: happy, silly, lonely

cambia y por i, luego agrega -er: happier, sillier, lonelier
