WHAT IS HIMALAYA YOGA OLYMPAID?Itisnottheusualyogacompetitionrunthroughoutthecountryattractingthousandsofyouths.SwamiVivekanandasaid“yoga should not be a competition but should be based on cooperation”WiththisinmindHIMALAYAhasbeenconceptualized&concretizedasateamassessmentprogram.Eachteamconsistingofyogapractitionersareformed.TheywillbeassessedfirstatTaluklevel.ThewinnerswillgofordistrictlevelHIMALAYAandsoontilltheyreachInternationalHIMALAYA.Participantsfrom-abroad can apply. After selection by the selection committee, they will beallowedtoparticipateintheNationalandInternationalHIMALAYA.
STRUCTURE OF HIMALAYA1. TEAMS a) Teamsof3-4personsshallbeparticipatingfromeachorganization.As-
sessmentwillnotbebasedonindividuals.
b) Boysandgirlswillbeassessedseparately.
c) Separateteamsshouldregisterforjunior,seniorand(adultcategorized)LocallanguagesorEnglishisthemediumofinstructionorexpression.
2. VENUESWherever VYASA Affiliate centers are available, the HIMALAYA will beconductedinthesecenters,localyogainstituteswillbeutilizedforthispurposewhere centers are not there, other associated Yoga centers and the facilitiesprovidedbyVYASAwell-wisherswillbeutilizedforthispurpose.TheNationalandInternationalHimalayawillbeinPrashantiKutiram,Jigani,Bengaluru.
3. RULES AND REGULATIONS OF HIMALAYA1. TheHIMALAYAwillbeconductedinthefollowingstages: a)Taluk&Ward/1stLevel,b)District/2ndLevel,c)State/3rd Level d)NationalandInternational/4th Level.
2. TheHIMALAYAwillbeconductedinalltheabovelevels,inthefollowingagegroup,forbothmenandwomenseparately.
a) from10to14years b) above 15 years and upto 24 years c) above 25 years
3. No participantwho is below 10 yearswill be allowed to participate intheHIMALAYA. Proper age-proof should be given by the participant,preferablyacertificateofdateofbirthfromacompetentauthoritybeforethestartofHIMALAYA.Xeroxcopywillnotbeaccepted.
4. Entries from various yoga institutions are invited to take part in theHIMALAYA. Each institute can send six teams with two to threeparticipants ineachforeachsectionofeverygroup. (Amaximumof18participants per institution).
5. OnlythetopteamsofeachlevelwillbeselectedtoparticipateinthenextlevelHIMALAYA.Themeans, the top two teams in thedistrictwillbeselectedtotheStatelevelHIMALAYA;thetoptwolevelteamsinthestateswillbeselectedtothenationalandinternationallevelHIMALAYA.
6. ThesameteamofparticipantsoftheselectedteamsshouldbefieldedinthenextlevelofHIMALAYA.Nochangeofparticipantswillbepermitted.Iftheteamprovidesthelistofstandbysatthetimeofsubmissionoftheentry,providedtheentryfeeforthestandbysisremittedalongwiththeteam.Maximumnumberofstandbysallowedineachsectionistwoonly.
7. A non-refundable entry fee per participant should be sent along withthe entry form. Entry fee should be paid separately for each level ofHIMALAYA.
