When you get there• Session will be Play (10-15minutes) – Work (30-40 minutes) –

Play (10-15 minutes)• Take attendance by putting your initials next to players

in your group• If there is an NP next to a players name for team

please give an opinion on the level the player should be playing at (Maroon (better) or Gold)

• Hand your attendance sheet at the end to Brian Kallman

• Coaches will have groups of 6 to start and then will get players added to their group – Once you have 8 players begin the session

• Focus on details the more detailed and specific you are with your teaching and feedback the better our players will develop

– “I like how you used your laces and struck thru the center of the ball” is better then “Nice hit of the that ball”

• Some groups you will need to provide the energy so be prepared with a few silly things mixed in but get back to business ASAP

Activity 1 – Races- Groups of 2-3 players racing other

groups- Use your imagination for the races- Start in a variety of ways on knee, on

one foot, in push-up position- Include segments of running,

dribbling, and passing- Don’t make races too intricate- 5-8mins max of time make sure to

include the ballKEYS Be quick How do have to dribble the ball if

you want to be fast When you pass accuracy vs. pace

Here’s the race. Start with ball dribble across. When dribbler gets to your side run to ball in middle and dribble across line

Activity 2 – 2v2 to Goal- Break group into 2 teams change

roles after each round- Play starts with 1 A and 2 D in the

toe poke zone A shows out of zone and gets pass

- As soon as ball is passed everyone else is live

- So after pass – passer steps on to support and 2 D can leave the zone

- One team attacks big goal other attacks small counter

KEYS Firm pass and join in a way that you

are available immediately Player receiving ball receive ball has

hips facing goal Ankle locked, surface to strike ball

with Looking at the ball and where it is

struck will naturally pull shoulders and chest over the ball

- Team that is scored is off the one on outside is on

- Make sure to switch out GKs every few rounds

eliminate the D or does it need to be tight to set up a move
